Pseudo-Secular Communal Politicians

In a recent post we proposed that the reason for Digvijay’s lies could be the usual hatred for BJP and votebank politics. While those are solid reasons, another reason and a much more nefarious one could be the real one. We would like to thank a friend of the blog, Nishant for alerting us about a news report from Mumbai Mirror. It all seems like a sequence from a cheap Bollywood potboiler. After the Batla House shootout in New Delhi, two terrorists died and one escaped. The escapee hid in a village in Azamgarh. The police chased him down there and were doing there duty when politicians from Samajwadi Party and Congress stopped them from entering the village. In words of the police: A police team was deployed, but the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force did not allow them to enter, the source said. “In fact, their entry too was banned because, by then, the encounter in Delhi had assumed political proportions and politicians were streaming into the village.” This enabled the terrorist and his other friends to escape to Dubai and Pakistan via Nepal. That terrorist was Shahnawaz Khan who is now the main suspect in the Varanasi blast. I am sure the gravity of the implication is not lost on anyone. Our own politicians, mainly the self styled champions of secularism are responsible for one death and many serious injuries. In any other civilized country, these politicians would be put away for ever. In India, they are still in position of power. Are we not the most forgiving nation in the world? More Catholic than Catholics in turning the other cheek?
Could it be possible that Digvijay Singh is trying to divert attention from the culpability of Congress politicians by creating diversions like the specter of Hindu Terrorism and non-existent phone calls?
I really pray to Bholenath that the voters will see through these criminal shenanigans and vote these people out. That is the least we can do. Expecting them to be punished would be too much to ask in our ever forgiving nation.

Here’s how politicians come to terrorists’ aid
Suspected Varanasi blast plotter, Dr Shahnawaz Khan, was almost nabbed after the 2008 Batla House encounter; political influence helped him evade cop net.
When the Batla House encounter took place in New Delhi on September 19, 2008, two of Khan’s associates were killed. At the time of the encounter, Khan and a few of his operatives were in Lucknow.
Fearing that the police were trailing him, Khan escaped to Sarai Mir village in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh where he holed up in a small house.
The police, who had got wind of his whereabouts, tried closing in on Khan and his associates. However, political interference ensured that this did not happen.

“The Batla House encounter was just in the news and the situation in Azamgarh was politically charged at the time,” sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch said. “Thanks to politicians from the Congress and Samajwadi Party, no police team was allowed to enter that part of Azamgarh.”

Ghoos!!

How culpable is the aam aadmi in the problem of corruption in India? The answer as per the Transparency International is is rather alarming. We are contributing to the problem by resorting to the concept of "Jugaad" rather than following the word of the law. By trying to get ahead in the que, we are feeding this cancerous tumor.

A Slip Of The Tongue Or....

That old thug Churchill once said that when I am abroad, I always make it a rule never to criticize or attack the government of my own country. I make up for lost time when I come home.
Now even the most ardent hater of Churchill is going to have trouble disagreeing with his quotation. Domestic politics is just that – domestic. It should not be discussed abroad. Attacking opposition in Germany is not the first time; the PM has breached the domestic politics rule. He has done that several times before. The question arises why is he doing it. The man may be short on political gumption and courage but he is not short on intellect. Such breaches in basic protocols betray a deep-seated anxiety in him. As the author of the article correctly points out that the only departments, which are somewhat under his control, are Economics and foreign affairs. So when he gets a chance, he expresses himself. It would seem that outside of the country he does not have to worry about someone overlooking his shoulders and second-guessing his decisions when he gets to make them.
If parliamentary democracy is a victim of the current impasse in the loksabha then the blame has to go to the person who initiated this all by letting a major scam fester for so long.

Embarrassment in Germany
It is factual to say that the nominal prime-ministership of Manmohan Singh has taken a fair toll of India's parliamentary system of government. As such, India's coalition politics has contributed to the weakening of the system, from which there is no easy present escape. But the situation infinitely has been worsened by the division of power between Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, where she wields all the clout and he rubber-stamps her decisions.

Digvijay Singh On A Slippery Slope

A lie has speed but truth has perseverance. Digvijay Singh tried his best to divert the national attention from all the corruption scams to the ghost of Hindu Terrorism. He claimed to have spoken to the late hero ATS Chief Hemant Karkare. Unbeknownst to him, people looked at the mobile phone records and found out that there is no proof of any such call records to substantiate the Digvijay Singh's claim. He still continues to recite his version but he is on a slippery slope. Even the most secular newspapers are washing their hands off this guy’s story. All this reiterates the opinions of US Ambassador David Mulford who, as claimed by the leaked documents, thought that the Congress would stoop to any level to stay in power. By stirring up an old controversy now the Congress General Secretary is probably attempting to kill two birds with one stone. One is to divert the attention of the public from the 2G Scam and the oppositions JPC demand and the other is minority appeasement for vote bank purposes. Could all this be on the request/command of the Congress High Command, Sonia to save the sinking Congress ship?

Kavita Karkare rubbishes Digvijay Singh''s claim
Talking to reporters here, Kavita Karkare accused Singh of playing votebank politics and denied that any conversation had taken place between her husband and the Congress leader, as claimed by the latter. "When my husband was investigating the Malegaon blast and was looking for Hindu accused, there were reactions from Hindu organisations. Similarly, when earlier he was looking for Muslim accused, there was reaction from that community," she said, adding such reactions were natural. Kavita said it was wrong to suggest that Hindu groups were linked to the 26/11 terror attacks. "Such statements will mislead people and benefit Pakistan."

Call records don’t match Diggy claim
Digvijay Singh’s claim of having spoken to Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare two hours before his death is getting disproved as the slain police officer’s cell phone records show he neither called nor received a call from the Congress general secretary at 7 pm on November 26, 2008, when Digvijay ought to have spoken to him.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se – II

Like I said in my previous post on the subject, I had many thoughts as I watched the movie and now I move on to the other important facet of the whole incident that a patriotic Indian should ponder over.
Ever since India came under the British rule, Indians internalized that we do not have execution capability, especially in political and military domain. We are a “soft” people. The logic went that since the Hindus came to be dominated by just about every invader who chose to attack India, we must be devoid of political skills and fighting capability and are easily “taken”.
This line flies in the face of all available evidence. India came under Islamic rule much later than parts of Europe did. Even the British could establish their rule not because they had inherently superior military capabilities but because they were part of a growing and expanding civilization that achieved modernity before anyone else. Simply compare how easily Islam established it's rule over other civilizations and how easily the west too did and it will be clear that Hindu resistance to advancing cultures was more stubborn and longer lasting than other comparable nations.
However, the British had to demoralize the majority Hindus and also put us under the sway of their terror and so did everything they could to institutionalize this thinking in Indians (or let us say, Hindus). They were remarkably successful in this and to this day, the educated elite of India cannot bring itself to believe that we too are capable of great political achievements.
Once you closely examine the sheer skill and generalship shown by Surjyo Sen and his group in the Chittagong matter, you realize how much Indians can do. Sure enough, they failed in their plans. But anyone who has been any kind of executive in life and made a difference in his field (and not armchair “commentators”), will appreciate how much skill and capability was shown by the revolutionaries.
They planned extremely well. 65 revolutionaries trained with muskets and pistols for months and no one came to know of it till they actually hit the British installations. They took over all the installations as planned and cut Chittagong off from the rest of the country as they had planned. Then the gaps in their planning caught up on them. They had no idea that ammunition for 303 rifles was kept away from the guns and so were not able to arm themselves as planned and had to make do with older technology muskets and pistols. They did not know that on a Good Friday, all “Europeans” would vacate the club and go home early so were not able to execute them as planned.
They still make good their escape. After a few days there was an encounter with the British at Jalalabad. The encounter was of course lost by the revolutionaries but here are some facts to be considered – they were 65 while the British troops were a few thousand. They had only muskets and pistols. The British not only had 303 rifles – advanced technology of the day, but also machine guns. And finally, the British troops were trained for years. On our side (yes ! OUR side !) were mostly teenagers with very little practice. Sure, we had the advantage of height but all things considered, the fact that in Jalalabad encounter we had 12 casualties while the British had 80 + says something of the fighting spirit of Indians.
They had to retreat again in the face of machine gun fire. They scattered themselves and hid wherever possible. There were a few more encounters. Our revolutionaries killed many and lost few in ALL encounters in spite of the handicaps and it took the British 2 years to finally capture all including the leader – Surjyo Sen. By the end of the fight, the British lost a total of 242 men, 22 of them officers. Out of 65 revolutionaries, 32 were finally aquitted. Rest were killed in encounters or sent to prison for life or hanged.
The whole incident energized India. It stunned the British not only in India but also in Britain. While we have become fond of deriding our own political capabilities, I can bet the British themselves who had much more experience in these matters, would have been full of secret admiration for the courage and skill of this band of mostly teenagers and Surjyo Sen himself. Even though the revolutionaries failed in their objectives, indirectly they did succeed – each such incident convinced the British that their rule in India was unsustainable. They could put out one fire using terror and ruthlessness but one day all India would revolt and they would not be able to suppress all hundreds of millions. I am convinced that Chittagong uprising contributed in it's own way towards the departure of British from India.
I would now like to highlight where we need to improve in our political endeavors, again with Chittagong uprising as the example. I think these gaps remain even now and we would do well to correct them so that the world takes us more seriously.
I think (and this is opinion based on limited knowledge of Surjyo Sen's circumstances from the movie and a bit of internet research) that Surjyo should have first understood the full measure of British power. Even if he had succeeded in his design, what would have been achieved ? Chittagong and perhaps nearby areas would be free from the British, but only for a limited time. People could feel a few days' joy, celebrate, enjoy. And after that ?
The British power was spread all over the subcontinent with hundreds of thousands of trained troops, police force and most modern weaponry. Would the public of Chittagong have been able to hold out against this mighty empire ? With the strongest will and desire too, it would have been impossible without the means. Did Surjyo Sen think that the incident would cause spontaneous uprising all over India ? That too is doubtful. Did he plan that eventually he and the Chittagong people would be overpowered but they will have made the point and the British would be encouraged to leave ? I have doubts if he intended it this way.
I think that before starting his insurrection, he should have tried to form an all India group with people of similar ideology and skills. The might of the British empire would be tested only if there were similar incidents all over India simultaneously. As it was executed, even if the plan had succeeded, it would not have achieved much. It gave the impression of anger at the British being taken out in whatever way possible, rather than an authentic attempt to remove the British from India except in an indirect way.
The other gap we need to consider plugging in our political behavior is a lack of ruthlessness. Politics is, by nature, a cynical and amoral game. Even the finest ideology, if it needs to be successful, has to recognize the brutality of the political world and build it into it's plan and, in measured ways, exercise it too.
During their raid on the armory, the revolutionaries had to contend with a few hundred of British troops (actually Indians but working for the British) who were sleeping in a barrack in the armory complex. The revolutionaries knew where they were sleeping and locked them up while they slept. As the raid proceeded, some of the guards fired, got killed and the sounds awakened the troops. They armed themselves – as it happens all the 303 ammo was with them all along, broke open the doors and came out to fight.
Any “skilled” politician would have burned the barrack and killed the troops while they slept. Looking at the tactics followed by the states, emperors and even the modern day democracies, none would hesitate to act with such ruthlessness while going about an important mission.
Surjyo lacked that ruthlessness and I think so do Indians till today. Contrast this with the attitude of Americans and British who had no hesitation in exterminating their enemies as needed. The Americans have allied with the worst terrorists in fulfillment of their strategic missions in modern times. The British had no hesitation in lying, cheating and killing their opponents when they built their empires.

I do not advocate a complete cynicism in conduct of politics. Certainly this sort of amoral behavior should not become a value by itself as it did in case of many political ideologies. But to understand that the world of politics is like this only and to exercise it in exigencies in limited ways would be in accord with the Dharma and Niti of politics. I really wish we Indians realized it and sent a message to the world that beyond a point, Indians too are capable of it.

Congress Will Stoop to Any Level: US Ambassador

Wikileaks may be a huge embarrassment for the US administration but I am sure it’s turning out to be a blessing for India’s Aam Aadmi, that is if he wishes to get his buried head out of the sand. Bharat ke Aam Aadmi, dekho, suno, samjho aur apni awaz uthao.

The Congress of today is not your grandfather’s Congress that had participated in the freedom struggle against British to free the country. Leaders with integrity rather than ambition used to lead. It was an inclusive party. The Congress of today is lead by visionless, selfish, greedy, unpatriotic, opportunistic yes men who pray at the altar of Gandhi family. Anytime the family gets accused of anything, those yes men start reciting the sacrifices made by the family. What sacrifices you ask? I have been doing the same for a long time without a satisfactory answer. Nehru died because of lifestyle diseases but not before doing extreme amount of damage to the future of India. Indira died at the hands of the monsters she created to control politics in Punjab. Sanjay Gandhi died flying a plane for fun. Rajiv could have stayed out of politics as was his calling but he was too influenced by “the big tree falling and making a lot of noise”. He squandered a huge mandate and embarked on a political road paved with hubris and delusions of grandeur. He paid a price for it. Do you see any sacrifice here? All I see is blind ambition to keep India as family property. This same ambition is making them stoop to any level to stay in power. A lot of Indian voters are blind to it. I guess being an outsider; the US ambassador has a rare vignette. Documents revealed by wikileaks clearly show what David Mulford thought. Very rightly, he fathomed the vote bank politics played by Congress. He also sees through the lies of the Congress leader Abdul Rehman Antulay who comes through as an anti-Hindu terrorist sympathizer. Mulford rightly surmised that Congress party would readily stoop to the old caste/religious-based politics' to keep the people of the country divided, helpless and poor.
Time has come for the Aam Aadmi to see beyond the Gandhian philosophy of see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil, because all their evils are out there in the open for you to see and hear.

Digvijay Singh who is nothing more than a curse on our nation has kept himself relevant by being the Congress mouthpiece and minority appeasement champion This Rahul-Gandhi-sycophant preferred to visit the killed terrorist homes in Azamgarh, UP rather the innocent victims homes and has racked up the old A.R Antulay controversy of Karkare’s death. At least Antulay was taking care of his people. Pseudo-secularists like Digvijay Singh belong to no one except themselves. Time is upon us to vote these traitors out of the office the first chance we get. Seeing the rate at which scams are being unearthed, the day may be nearer that we think.

Digvijay sparks outrage with remarks on Karkare's death
"Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has again stoked a controversy with his claim that slain Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare had called him hours before the 26/11 terror strikes, saying that he feared for his safety from Hindu extremists, triggering a strong reaction from the BJP. "I had spoken to him three and a half hours...It was between 6 and 7 PM on 26/11....I was very shocked when I came to know that he was killed", he told reporters today. Singh claimed that Karkare had talked about a threat to his life from those opposed to his probe into the Malegaon blast in which Hindu extremists were accused."

WikiLeaks: Cong played religious politics post 26/11
Post 26/11, a section of the Congress leadership was seen playing religious politics after one of its leaders, A R Antulay, implied that Hindutva forces may have been involved in the Mumbai terror attacks, according to a confidential memo by the then US ambassador to India, David Mulford, released by WikiLeaks.

"The Congress Party, after first distancing itself from the comments (of Antulay, the then minority affairs minister), two days later issued a contradictory statement which implicitly endorsed the conspiracy. During this time, Antulay's completely unsubstantiated claims gained support in... Indian-Muslim community," Mulford wrote in his secret cable to the State Department on December 23, 2008.

"Hoping to foster that support for upcoming national elections, the Congress Party cynically pulled back from its original dismissal and lent credence to the conspiracy," Mulford wrote.
"The entire episode demonstrates that the Congress party will readily stoop to the old caste/religious-based politics if it feels it is in its interest," Mulford alleged, according to the cable posted by WikiLeaks on its website on Saturday.
The party chose to pander to Muslims' fears, providing impetus for those in the Muslim community who will continue to play up the conspiracy theory," Mulford wrote in his cable.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se – I

Ashutosh Gowariker has made some of the finest Indian movies, the most memorable being Lagaan. His other movies too had great artistic quality, for example Jodha-Akbar though it unduly romanticizes the life of Akbar who, in reality, was a ruthless emperor.
His latest directorial venture – Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, is based on a less known venture of Indian freedom fighters – Chittagong uprising. I have to say with some embarrassment that the full extent of this great enterprise by Indian revolutionaries led by Surjyo Sen (played in the movie by Abhishek Bachchan) was not known to me.
As I watched the movie, I was full of strong emotions. Thoughts jostled in my mind one after another. I have to admit that, among other things, the movie forced me to question many of my assumptions about Indian politics and my views about Indian strategic interests. This piece is the first in a series about the issues that the movie forced me to face and an analysis of the issues. I hope that these analyses will enrich the thinking of readers about what modern India is and how we should conduct ourselves with other nations.
Before I begin, I must say that the movie has been labeled “mediocre” in terms of artistic quality. It was described as rather “flat” and un-engaging by most critics. Though my wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly and felt strong emotions, I could concede that it is not a tight narrative and feels more like a glorified documentary made for school children. However, any Indian with patriotic sentiments in him, political types like us, will like it immensely. As an aside, though, another movie, much more “flat”, much less “engaging” and poorly produced and acted in was labeled a “landmark” movie by these same critics. Only because it gave a politically correct message of “humanizing” Pakistanis and Muslims. The name of that movie is “Khuda ke Liye”. Such is the spirit of the times that an insipid production like “Khuda ke Liye” gets a “must watch” rating by Indian critics only because Indian secularists like the message of the movie.
But on to Chittagong uprising now. As I said, I had to confront many issues when I watched the movie. The first one was this – if action by Indian freedom fighters against the British government was justified, then how is the Kashmiri separatist movement unjustified. After all, the emotions we felt as we watched the movie appear very similar to what Kashmiris perhaps feel vis-à-vis India.
We are angered to see the presence of British forces on our soil, taking away our lands at will. So are Kashmiri Muslims angered at Indian army doing the same? We are angered when we see the British establish their domination over us as they act against the revolutionaries – they entered our houses, forcibly carried out “checks” and sometimes even landed a few lathis on our person even when there was no proof against the householder. Kashmiris face the same behavior from Indian forces.
We are outraged to see the British contempt for Indians. They lead a highly refined life in their beautiful and luxurious houses and clubs waited on by a posse of servants and treat Indians like half animals. So are Kashmiris angered to see Indian businessmen and politicians lead better lives and also have domination over them? We hate to see the British torture Indians to extract information about revolutionaries. So do Kashmiris feel the same when reports of tortures by Indian army come out?
Indeed, I was forced to think what precisely is the difference between Kashmiri separatism and Indian freedom movement. The movie will force you to raise that question. Most important, it will put you in the shoes of the Kashmiri separatists.
However, a little thought will reveal that the analogy is fallacious. The similarities between the Indian sentiments and the Kashmiri ones are superficial. The differences are deep.
Imagine a similar movie being made about Kashmiri separatism. If it is an honest movie, it will show the ruthlessness of Indian army and the corruption of Indian politicians and some businessmen. But it also has to show ethnic cleansing of Pundits from the valley. It has to show hateful sermons from the mosques of Srinagar and elsewhere in the valley. It has to show the famous slogans shouted every Friday from mosque loudspeakers: O Pundits, leave the Kashmir valley but leave your women here for us. (This was before Pundits left the valley)
There was no equivalent behavior by Indian revolutionaries towards the British.
A movie on Kashmiri separatism also has to show presence of democracy in Kashmir as also it's special status because of which no Indian from other parts of India can settle there or buy land. People of J&K, largely Muslims, run their own government which also happens to be heavily biased towards the Muslims of Kashmir valley and ignores Hindus and Buddhists in other parts of the state.
Again, there is no equivalent of all this in Indian freedom movement.

In the end, my conclusion in the matter is that a nation- state or a political ideology cannot be judged by what I call “micro level” actions. You cannot condemn an ideology only because its followers occupied certain lands, killed it's opponents, tortured those who fought against it or harassed a community. Every nation state in history (and Muslim states more than other ones!) have done such things. In modern times, Israel has done it, so has USA, so has USSR and China and sure enough, so has India (or for that matter, Pakistan). Political ideologies too do it when they are struggling against established states. Apart from Islamist movements in Kashmir, Chechnya and Palestine, both leftist and rightist movements in Latin America and Africa have done similar things.
No, nation states and political ideologies have to be judged based on their ultimate aim. We have to consider what kind of societies they have established or seek to create. Will it be more just, more equitable or will it institutionalize grave injustices as so many have done in the past. Those considerations are more important when you take sides in a political struggle between two ideologies.
Indian freedom struggle was a noble and great enterprise. People who were not career politicians seeking more power, but members of a civil society, suffered torture, abuse and death in order to end the British rule. They were not driven by a desire to establish the supremacy of one community over another. They wanted to build an India in which all were equal.
All Indian freedom fighters first repudiated caste and gender based discrimination before they started their struggle. The British, on the other hand, were fighting for the supremacy of their race. They had institutionalized a government that was overtly racist. They were not willing to treat Indians at par with “Europeans” in the eyes of law. And they wanted this iniquitous arrangement to be permanent.
When we come to Kashmiri separatism, we find the situation quite the opposite. Kashmiri separatists are not fighting for a just and equitable society. They want to institutionalize Shariah law that establishes supremacy of Islam and Muslims over non- Muslims. In a Kashmir of separatists' dreams, non-Muslims can live only as dhimmis without equal political power. I have myself seen both Geelani and Mirwaiz Farooq say this openly on Indian media. Kashmiri separatists don't want freedom for Kashmiri Muslims. Muslims already have all the freedoms that modern societies offer. They are incensed that non-Muslims too have equal freedom. They want to end that – the equality between Muslims and non-Muslims in the eyes of the law. It cannot be done within Indian constitution, hence the desire to separate from India.

I wrote this because there are bound to be those who will draw parallel between Chittagong uprising and stone-pelters of Srinagar. For a while, I too was forced to ask what the real difference is between the two. India has upper hand in this conflict not because our methods are any different from the British – they are not. We are able to prevail because of the difference between the ultimate aim that we are pursuing and the one that separatists desire. I hope those leading the fight on Indian side never forget this.

26/11: The Untold Story

The voices of the Islamic fundamentalist Pakistani terrorist handlers can be heard loud and clear. They are clearly saying to the 10 terrorist that "this is a struggle between Islam and the Hindu unbelievers. We are the people who have been chosen by Allah to defend our religion against unbelievers". Ajmal Amīr Kasāb the captured Pakistani terrorist of the 26/11 Mumbai attack admits that he was sent on a mission to indiscriminately attack and kill innocent unbelievers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

This is how the Pakistani Handlers congratulate and encourage the terrorist for their divine work "There are a lot of people killed and injured, there is fire and people are dying all over the place. With ALLAH'S blessings you've done a brilliant job"

Indian Mujahideen(IM) has claimed responsibility for the Varanasi blast and has sent info to several media organizations, claiming responsibility for the explosion. The reason for the blast was the unfavorable judgment on the Babri Masjid case and giving a clean chit for Narendra Modi by SIT on the Godhra riots.

The latest news is that the Bhatkal Brothers who are in Pakistan are behind the attacks in Varanasi. When the LeT cannot attack directly, they are to use the local terrorists like Indian Mujahideen. Since the local Muslims cannot be touched by the secular government at the center (how many local facilitators of the 26/11 atacks have been arrested?), it is beneficial for all the terrorists. Of course poor Hindus die but who cares for them? Definitely not our government! The PM has urged peace. The Home Minister is fumbling for words. Of course when there is even a hint of Hindu involvement, Chidambaram is never at a loss for words.

So dear Hindu brothers and sisters, watch the following video and wake up or you will soon perish because your elected leaders are still in the denial mode and busy in appeasement.

Dispatches - Terror In Mumbia
The untold story of 2008's terrorist attack on the Indian city of Mumbai. The story is told in the words of its victims and the gunmen. Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Dan Reed, Terror in Mumbai tells the story of what happened when 10 Muslim gunmen held one of the world's busiest cities hostage; killing and wounding hundreds of people

Caution is advised as the video is pretty graphic:http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1e4_1246490858

Stop Appeasing Start Punishing

When sentenced criminals are not punished by the state and central governments. When leading politician’s help in releasing a convicted criminal responsible for taking thousands of innocent lives by dropping all serious terrorism charges leveled at him. Where the Home Minister in-charge of the nation’s security blames the majority community and brands them as saffron terror for a crime they did not commit. Where fear of backlash and losing power takes precedence over the larger interest of the national security, the dangerous extent of degeneration in our politics is clearly visible. All this to appease a certain minority community for their vote, it’s not constitutional and cannot be a democratic practice. But this is what is being practiced in the name of politics in our country. This blind minority appeasement makes the state, the central government and the political parties’ equal partner in crime. With financial support from the Middle East and logistical support from our western neighbor combined with our government’s wishy washy approach, the southern states have become a breeding ground for terrorists.
Hoping that Wikileaks are being read and followed by our masses, they need to rise and wake up from their long slumber or else it will be too late.
The world is a dangerous place not because of people who do evil, but because of good people who look on and do nothing about it. -- Albert Einstein

Wikileaks: Kerala, TN are training hubs for Lashkar
Islamic terror groups could have big bases in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Wikileaks cables now reveal.

A 2009 cable, signed by secretary of state Hillary Clinton, says the Laskhar-e-Taiba had surveyed Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, and was in the process of setting up training camps. It also says it planned to kill Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. In another revelation, Hillary says Saudi donors are supporting Sunni terror groups across the world.

Indians Beating The British At Raping India

Neera Yadav
As we had posted on our blog this past summer, children near Allahabad were eating clay to fend off hunger. Stop for a moment and try to realize the gravity of that statement. The level of poverty and helplessness of those children will sadden the wickedest of souls. But as it turns out from the revelations of the latest scandal from UP, the babus of the government and politicians are incapable of such empathy. These amoral living beings (can you really call them human?) need to be dragged in the streets and made to feel the same level of helplessness as those children. The latest scam though smaller than the 2G scam, is worth Rs. 2000 crores. In this scam, UP government officials (most probably IAS and PCS), politicians and businessmen, took the foodgrains meant for the poor and sold it in the open market in India and neighboring countries. It is not enough that food rots out in the open due to criminal neglect. These animals have to steal it from the poor so they can feed their perverted hunger for wealth. The Daily Pioneer claims that these maggots stole foodgrains worth Rs. 250 crores from Lakhimpur Kheri district alone. Is it possible for theft of this kind to happen with the top politicians and IAS / PCS officials being involved? Of course not! This happened during the Samajwadi and Bahujan Samajwadi party rule. Now both Maulana Mulayam Yadav and Behenji Mayawati are supposed to be the champions of the downtrodden. Now we know exactly whom they champion! The UP Chief Secretary Neera Yadav during Mulayam Yadav’s misrule has been sentenced to 4 years in jail for land grabbing and other kinds of robbery. This woman must really have broken records in theft because people from IAS or politician class never get sent to jail. When some hapless thief steals some small amount of money, he gets sent to jail with third degree treatment. But when you are an IAS officer or a politician you get transferred or change ministry or get sent to party high command.
Global Financial Integrity (GFI) program of the Washington-based Center for International Policy says more than $125 billion was spirited out of India during 2000-2008. The report also says the following which is mind boggling:

GFI, which tracks cross-border flows of illicit money that is "generally the product of corruption, bribery, kickbacks, criminal activities and efforts to shelter wealth from a country's tax authorities", says India cannot afford to ignore such massive leakages of funds.

"Had India managed to avoid this staggering loss of capital, the country could have paid off its outstanding external debt of $230.6 billion (at end 2008) and have another half left over for poverty alleviation and economic development," GFI said in the report "Drivers and Dynamics of Illicit Financial Flows from India: 1948-2008" released on November 16.

Since independence from British colonial rule in 1947, India has lost $462 billion, in a "conservative estimate". If gaps in statistics can be covered, the estimate could well reach half-a-trillion dollars, the report said.

In one of his articles as mentioned on one of Aam Admi blog posts, Rajeev Srinivasan says that the amount of money stolen by the British was (depending upon which historian you believed) to one to ten trillion dollars. Now post independence, Indians have continued that tradition and seem to be besting the Brits at raping India. We all heard about the trillion dollars ferreted away by politicians, babus and other crooks in Switzerland. There does not seem to be any effort by anyone to recover even part of that money. At the very least the government could offer amnesty to those thieves so that the money can come back to India and gets invested in the country rather than making those Swiss rich. But even that option is not on the table because the decision makers have their names to lose because they are the biggest thieves!!

Why are Indians (politicos and babus and other crooked business people) such big thieves? We all know that politicians are lowest of god’s creations. But what about the IAS and PCS officers? Most of them come from middle class families. Do they forget their own hard times? In my college days, I knew some of these men. They were good fellows. Either I am a poor judge of character or somewhere along the way their conscience died. Bholenath only knows how and when that happens.
We live in a democracy and thus we have to patiently wait for the law to take its course. Being Hindus we can always wait for Bholenath to open his third eye. These people are lucky to be in India. If this were China, people like Neera Yadav would have been executed and their internal organs harvested. Now that is a thought!

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia: The Two Founts Of Terror

Any terrorist attack has three components - manpower, money and logistics. The logistics are a result of the money and manpower. So it boils down to two components. There is no shortage of poor and blind followers in any religion including Islam. Unfortunately, unlike other religions, followers of Islam are willing to kill and be killed. So manpower for terror attacks is never an issue. Point to be noted is that none of the leaders and their kin is actually involved in any attacks. For that, only the really poor and ignoramuses are selected as the cannon fodder. Pakistan and similar poor Muslim countries have an unending supply of Jihadis. What makes Pakistan stand out is that the Jihadis are tools of the Pakistani diplomacy. Since their army / ISI are the real power, there is a ready availability of training and technology. Active and retired paki faujis are doing just that. Hamid Gul is the best example of this. The paki nuclear weapons, the Chinese help at the UN and other diplomatic forums and the created need of the paki help in the war on terror keeps the pakis from facing any real punishment. All this makes Pakistan one of the two biggest problems in the world.

The other aspect of all this is money. This where the Saudis come in. Flushed with petro-dollars, these guys are really as debauched as they come in their personal lives. Even the current king, who is the keeper of the mosques, is known to have enjoyed his youth thoroughly and I don't mean playing golf either! These guys pretend to be open minded friends of various democracies but at the end of the day, they are the keepers of the Wahabi faith and thus a huge problem. Their ultimate aim is the establishment of some sort of a Caliphate and propagation of Islam by any and all means. Since they cannot actively support terrorism like the pakis, they help with the money aspect of the operation. As was realized in the recent wikileaks, Saudi Arabia is the biggest source of money to for all of the Islamic terrorist groups including Al Qaida and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Now the Saudi King can deny the involvement of the royal family but the involvement of a number of royal family members is established including direct involvement in the 9/11 attacks in the US. Other facilities like money transaction by hawala money laundering are all provided by people in Saudi Arabia. To some extent, Qatar, Kuwait and UAE are also involved in the financing of terrorists. This makes Saudi Arabia the second of the two biggest problems in the world.

That, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are the two founts of terror, is no revelation to anyone except some cave dweller. However, until you read an unedited Intel report, it all is still speculation and thus deniable. Wikileaks removes the thin veneer and takes care of any deniablility.

WikiLeaks cables portray Saudi Arabia as a cash machine for terrorists
Hillary Clinton memo highlights Gulf states' failure to block funding for groups like al-Qaida, Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Saudi Arabia is the world's largest source of funds for Islamist militant groups such as the Afghan Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba – but the Saudi government is reluctant to stem the flow of money, according to Hillary Clinton. "More needs to be done since Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaida, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups," says a secret December 2009 paper signed by the US secretary of state. Her memo urged US diplomats to redouble their efforts to stop Gulf money reaching extremists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. "Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide," she said. Three other Arab countries are listed as sources of militant money: Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan Bombshell

Pakistan is more crooked than a thousand corkscrews. That is not a country. It is a criminal enterprise posing a a viable country. Everything you know and can imagine about Pakistan is only half the truth. The real truth is far worse. This is one country that needs to be divided and destroyed. Otherwise, it is going to sink everyone along with it. I am one of the millions and millions of Indians who have expressed their views on the subject. But to hear the truth from a Pakistani is astonishing and shocking at the same time. I am a huge fan of Mr. De Borchgrave who is very familiar with the Indian subcontinent. He has written on the subject with authority. In the following article he writes that one of the most inflential journalis who is the editor of a major newspaper has made "off the record" revelations. The ones of Indian interests are as follows:

DE BORCHGRAVE: Pakistan bombshell
Candid narratives explode myths about our purported ally

All four wars between India and Pakistan (1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999) were provoked by Pakistan.

There is no Indian threat to Pakistan, except for what is manufactured by the ISI (Inter-Service Intelligence agency).

One can't begin to understand the Pakistani crisis until one absorbs the terrifying fact that Pakistan's 180 million population includes 80 million children younger than 18 - almost half the population. And just 40 percent of Pakistani children are in school. (Reminder: Pakistan also is one of the world's eight nuclear powers, counting North Korea).

China? The Pakistanis see President Obama's visit to India and the warm relations between the old and the new superpower as further evidence it would behoove Islamabad to further enhance its relations with China, which is busy enlarging its footprint in Pakistan. An Iran-Pakistan-China pipeline is considered a realistic project. Singapore has rights on Gwadar, the new Pakistani port on the Arabian Sea, which soon will be transferred to China (with some fancy footwork by Pakistan's Supreme Court that will say the Singapore contract does not hold legal water, which will clear the way for China).

The Paid News Media Nexus

What is unraveling in our nations news channels today is nothing but the ugly and dark side of the paid media and the nexus it has created with the corporate world and the political parties to control and loot the nation. The 2G spectrum, the Adarsh, the CWC and other scams are exposing these facts. When it comes to money, irrespective of their differences, ruling party or opposition, regional or national, communist or conservative join hands to fool the masses. Like Arun Shourie said in his recent interview with Rediff that “Both Congress and BJP are one party”. It is obvious and clear from the Radia Tapes that the corporate agencies, the political parties and the media have joined hands in playing politics with the Aam Aadmi. Those tapes are an eye opener exposing prominent journalists who have become media brokers and are fabricating stories and negotiating deals for the corporations and corrupt politicians at the cost of the nation’s security. As Arun Shourie says “The main point that emerges from the tapes is the level of corporate penetration. These tapes have shown that everybody is now linked to everybody else. The visible Government of India keeps changing, but that invisible government of India remains completely stable”. It is with the media’s help and communist party of Kerala’s (CPI-M) funding that Teesta Setalvad, and her NGO (Citizens for Justice and Peace), prepared the fabricated affidavits for the 2002 post Godhra riots and charged Narendra Modi of completely imaginary crimes. The entire liberal media extended full support to her in perjury and fabrication of evidence with an intent to procure false conviction against a truly honest and patriotic leader.
At a recent event “Radia Tapes and Journalistic Ethics” jointly organized by the Editors’ Guild ,Press Association, Press Club of India and Indian Women’s Press Corps, Editors’ Guild president Rajdeep Sardesai defended Barkha Dutt and blamed the two magazines for violating principles of journalism by publishing the tapped conversion as “bad journalism” and drew a lot of criticism.
Vinod Mehta, Editor-in-Chief of Outlook magazine that publish the transcript of tapes said assertively that the fundamental norms and ethics of journalism have been existing for long.

The following article shows how the unholy nexus of political parties, corporations and media shaped the Maharashtra elections. The author, P. Sainath says that 212 millionaires contested in Maharashtra of whom 186 won. Lokmat's owner himself became a minister in Ashok Chavan's cabinet.
Sainath also says 'paid news' would finish off journalism if journalists did not finish off 'paid news'.

I am afraid it is already too late and real journalism is dead, finished, finito …………………..........
How much voice will a hand full of honest and sincere journalist have against the mighty media muscle?

'Paid news would finish off journalism unless...'
Media is business, journalism is not says Magsaysay Award winner for journalism P Sainath. The dominant media always lies as they invest in the stock exchange and keep the Sensex up".

"Paid News is an industry that is run by the owners of the media. Media and journalists are different. Media is business, journalism is not," he clarified.
The amount involved in the Maharashtra assembly elections was estimated to be around Rs 500 crores but the actual amount was closer to Rs 1000 crores. Compared to the owners of these media empires, journalists who appear on the 'Radia tapes' were small time.
In paid news, Sainath said, you were cheating the voters by creating a positive image of the candidate, which may not be true. This undermined the democratic process, as poor candidates were ignored.
So how does 'paid news' work? Sainath said that big political parties gave crores of rupees to PR agencies who contacted ad agencies who in turn contacted the newspapers. In Nagpur, he said, even independent candidates were offering Rs 20,000 to journalists and saying, 'Do paid news'.
He said 212 millionaires contested in Maharashtra of who 186 won. Lokmat's owner himself became a minister in Ashok Chavan's cabinet.
He said 'paid news' would finish off journalism if journalists did not finish off 'paid news'.

Rahul Gandhi: Exposed Yet Again

I must salute MJ Akbar for writing one of the most honest articles written in the English language media. He has taken on the scion of the Gandhi family and the future PM of India. It was an exercise in honesty and courage as well and we tip our hat to Mr. Akbar. This is especially refreshing in the wake of the Barkha Dutt / Sanghvi scandal.
The Gandhi scion visited various colleges in cities of Gujarat to woo students to join the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the party’s students’ wing. This was in the same vein and his visit to Lalit Narayan Mithila University in Bihar. It seems that result of those visits have something in common. Rahul was taken to task by the students of Bihar. Things became so bad that he had to be escorted out by security. Congress took the drubbing of a lifetime in the elections following that. Gandhi was not deterred by that and has continued his NSUI recruitment tour. These college appearances are carefully orchestrated by Congress media mavens. They do not allow the media to be present in the lectures and the following Q&A. Obviously, the Congress do not want Rahul’s meeting with India’s best and the brightest to be shown to public lest the Rajkumar gets exposed. Unfortunately, in the day of mobile phones with cameras, nothing is hidden anymore. M J Akbar found out about these meetings in Gujarat and that is the core of the article. Apparently to woo Muslim students, the Congress youth icon reportedly said, “India can change only if Gujarat changed first.” Statements like these have probably not gone down well with the proud Gujaratis who asked Rajkumar that why should they vote for Congress when Narendra Modi is doing such a great job?
To that, Rahul Gandhi said even Mao Zedong, developed China but “he caused destruction to the country, too”.
Now this displays the congress party’s young and charismatic leader Rahul Gandhi’s ignorance, lack of knowledge and the deep hatred for Narendra Modi. First of all Chairman Mao was a dictator and not an elected leader like Modi. Secondly Tienmien Square was a brutal suppression and massacre of students demanding democratic reforms. It cannot be compared to Godhra which were riots triggered as a retaliation for the brutal train burning of the innocent pilgrims by Muslims miscreants’. The Supreme Court- appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) and other similar organizations have been giving a clean chit after clean chit to Gujarat Chief Minister in the 2002 riots cases.
On the topic, M J Akbar rightly says “They have moved on from Mao, just as India and the Congress have moved on from Mahatma Gandhi, but China still reveres the leader of the Long March as the leader who laid the foundations of China’s economic miracle.”

If Modi is compared with Mao for his development work then Indian would be better off to have many more Modis for the nation.

Asking yet another question which a journalist dare not ask, a student asked if Congress had any leaders who could stand next to Bhai Narendra. To that, the Rajkumar named Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh and A K Antony. Thing to note is that only one of these has contested and won a Lok Sabha election! The sole elected leader, P Chidambaram is an extremely unpopular man in his own constituencies. Recent allegations made by the intrepid Subramanyan Swamy portray the Home Minister in really unflattering lights.
Needless to say, the Congress attempts to make the Rajkumar look good ended up exposing his intellectual dishonesty. In fact the aam aadmi is still waiting to see if he has any good in him other than his looks. All the attempts to make him sound smart and a caring leader have blown up in the Congress faces. His family name has carried him far and if the voters are not careful, all the way to the PM’s seat. That would a cruel joke on the nation and undeserved reward for this false prophet. As the Bible says: "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits."
Why do I use a quote from the Bible? It is to make it easier for the Congress party people and supporters to understand what we are talking about.

The Mao of Gujarat By: M J Akbar
''If Modi can become the second Gujarati to have his picture on rupee, he will consider his life well spent.''

The unnamed young students of Ahmedabad who had a question or two for Rahul Gandhi this week were pertinent, not pert. They also provided more evidence that students are doing the job that journalists either cannot, or will not, do; which is, ask relevant questions.
The essence was simple and the same: students wanted to know why they should vote for the Congress when Narendra Modi had developed Gujarat so much. One answer given by Rahul Gandhi was odd, to say the very least. Mao Zedong, said Rahul Gandhi, also developed China but “he caused destruction to the country, too”. I am not too sure whether Narendra Modi would mind being compared to one of the great figures of the 20th century, warts and all.
A young girl was sharper in her question. She asked which Congress leaders could measure up to Modi on the development matrix. Rahul Gandhi had four names on the tip of his tongue: Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh and A K Antony. It is interesting that three of the four did not contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi Made to Eat Dust! – Bihar Video
http://thenethindu.blogspot.com/2010/11/rahul-gandhi-made-to-eat-dust.html

Enough Is Enough!!

Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team has cleared Bhai Narendra Modi's name in the 2002 riots cases. Thus the umpteenth attempt to besmirch the name of the conservative stalwarts has come to a naught. One only hopes that people will now leave him alone so he can peacefully lead the most prosperous state of Gujarat to greater heights. The frustrated accusers should walk away with their tails between their legs if they have any shame at all. Unfortunately, liberals, communists and pseudo - secularists have no shame and I am sure they will keep coming back. The case in point in Teesta Setalwad. This woman is a convert to Islam and new converts feel that they have to prove their "Muslim-ness". I can understand that. In that case, she should focus on strict fasting during Ramzan (not even swallow her spit) and make many Haj and Umrah to Saudi Arabia to prove her love for Islam. That would be a better way than lying, cheating, conniving i.e. "al taqqiyya" that she has been using to bring down Bhai Narendra.
Her hatred for Bhai Narendra has fried her analytical ability. When one of her people turned against her, she tried to get a stay on the case but was denied. Apparently she thinks that the courts are going to accommodate her because she is a great crusader. When it became clear that she had almost no recourse left, she sent letters to United Nations Commission on Human Rights based in Geneva as recently as October 5th and 7th this year. This action seems to have upset the Supreme Court because in some ways, it undermines their authority.
I hope that the SC will put an end to this menace. Censures and reprimands will not solve the problem. She has no shame. She needs to be punished to the full extent of the law because clearly she has perjured herself and caused obstruction in a judicial process. Until that happens, the precious time of the Supreme Court of India will be wasted to on the whims of a delusional and a hateful person.

Gujarat riots: 'SIT's clean chit to Modi' vindicates BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said the Supreme Court- appointed Special Investigation Team reportedly giving a clean chit to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 riots cases vindicates the party's stand on the issue. "This issue is in court. We are not aware of what the SIT has said, so we will not be able to make a detailed comment. But if such an outcome is there then it will be a truth which will vindicate our stand on the matter," Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and MP from Gujarat Arun Jaitley said. The SIT had summoned Modi a few months ago and grilled him for a few hours on the issue. The court had on April 27, 2009 asked the SIT to inquire into Zakia's complaint. Zakia had alleged that Modi and 62 others, including his cabinet colleagues, police officials and senior bureaucrats aided and abetted the riots which left over 1,000 people dead.

Teesta in Real Trouble
On the letters addressed by Teesta to the international body, senior advocate and amicus curiae Harish Salve informed the Bench that the SIT was “disturbed” over the constant airing of grievances by Setalvad to the international body. The letters addressed to SIT chairman RK Raghavan had complained about the poor witness protection in the Godhra cases and even contained information of how her former aide Rais Khan was bought over by the other side.

What annoyed court
1. Setalvad's CJP sent letters to UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva
2. SIT was ‘disturbed' over constant airing of grievances by Setalvad to international body
3. Letters complained about poor witness protection in Godhra cases
4. Also contained information of how Rais Khan was allegedly bought over

Setalvad in soup, relief for Modi
File criminal case against Teesta: Court
A designated Sessions Judge has ordered that criminal complaints be filed against those who were involved in fabricating affidavits regarding the 2002 post Godhra riots. The court order will cover Mumbai-based social activist Teesta Setalvad, whose NGO Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) was in the forefront of trumpeting charges against Narendra Modi.
The Registrar has been asked to file the complaint under Sections 193, 194, 195, 196, 199 and 200 of the Indian Penal Code, all relating to perjury and fabrication of evidence with intent to procure conviction of others. The operative part of designated Sessions Judge Vora’s order said that complaints be filed against all those who participated in the fabrication of affidavits.
