SP Rule In UP: Buyer's Remorse?

Wikipedia defines Buyer’s Remorse as:

Buyer's remorse is the sense of regret after having made a purchase. It is frequently associated with the purchase of an expensive item such as a car or house. It may stem from fear of making the wrong choice, guilt over extravagance, or a suspicion of having been overly influenced by the seller.


When UP voters chose Samajwadi Party over all others, I knew where it was going to lead. I knew that because I do not fall for the media / politician claptrap. I also believe in learning from the history. I also believe that people may learn to modify or hide or control their true nature but they NEVER change. SP mandarins (read Mulayam and his close friends) put Akhilesh Yadav in the front because he presents a newer more sophisticated look which has been honed by education overseas (something Mulayam does not support for others’ kids). However, the decision makers are still the same. This arrangement fooled the gullible UP voters.


So have the UP voters started to feel some of that buyer’s remorse yet? Probably not because the capacity of the people of UP to silently suffer is enormous. We all saw how within days of the Yadav takeover of UP, the gundaraj came back. We wrote about this on our blog. One of the stalwarts of SP, Amarmani Tripathi is in jail for heinous crimes. However, like in Hindi movies, jail is no impediment for this man. He comes and goes as he pleases. A banquet in Lucknow for Pranab Mukherjee was attended by Mukhtar Ansari and Vijay Mishra who are in jail. Such is the power of these “tainted” SP politicos. Clearly, either Akhilesh is on the same page as his father or he is powerless. Either way, the UP voter is the loser here.


Mulayam Yadav fancies himself as the guardian of Muslim interest in the world – yes – world (SP held a rally in UP for Iranians). However, in less than six months of “secular rule” in UP, two significant Hindu-Muslim riots have happened. Of course the median and the liberals are silent on the topic. In a related topic, which is of no significance to the pseudo secular brigade, there have been no Hindu Muslim riots in Gujarat since the Post Godhra Massacre riots i.e. over a decade.


In knee jerk reaction to these events, which are rather familiar occurances in UP, over 3000 senior government, officials have been transferred. God only knows what these transfers do. Incompetence is not a function of one’s milieu. Moreover, IAS officers seem to perform better in states with better governments. So it stands to reason that the politicians in charge of the state are really the root cause of the problem.


I still have hope. If people of Bihar and Poschim Bongo can eventually make the right decision, then there is hope for UP yet. The first sign of buyer’s remorse is that the BJP won nine out of twelve Mayoral elections in UP. So, we are certainly hopeful!!

Secularism Is A Weapon To Control Hindus

A dictator controls majority by brain washing, disinformation and force. An incompetent democratically elected politician controls the majority by using the same tricks except force. He uses guilt and shame. Those of us who are not blind, can see that in India on a daily basis. In India, the education system takes care of the disinformation by hiding painful history in the name of protecting the minorities. The same Macaulayite education system assisted by the media has been used by the various Congress administrations in the same vein as the British – to keep India divided so they can rule it. This is where the guilt and shame part comes in. The Hindus in India have been subjected to a warped idea of secularism which makes us feel guilty and ashamed of our own identity. In short, secularism has become a weapon in the hands of Congress and other leftist liberals and assorted regional parties who do not know the meaning of the word. Tavleen Singh raises a very valid point in her article. This is what she says about the word secular:


It is a foreign word that evolved in a European context when the powers of the church and the state were separated. In India, since none of our religions were led by pontiffs who controlled armies, or had vast temporal powers, we had no need to make this separation. But, the word secularism is used in India more than almost any other country. Why?


Clearly secularism was a trick used by the wily Brits and almost criminalized by the Congress and others to control the Hindu majority. It has become so bad that the moment someone starts to talk of Hindu nationalism, they are branded communal or worse. The “Bhura Sahib wannabe” middle class Hindus who are so label conscious that they get bullied into accepting the liberal brand of secularism without questioning the validity of the term. Thanks to the leftists and liberals, the word Hindu has now become a “gaali”. People behave against their core beliefs and behave “open minded” and “secular” to avoid being mocked. In fact, the surrender of the Hindus to the secular brigade is so complete that one has to wonder if, as a society, we are suffering from a Societal Stockholm Syndrome (SSS). In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.


It has already been established that a society can also suffer from this syndrome when faced with an onslaught of oppression by a group or an ideology or an oppressive environment in general. Our history tells us that Hindus are very passive people and accept anything as fate. Our psyche is not confrontational in nature. Our desire to join the elitists (read English speaking glitterati) and subservient nature has removed any resolve to stand up to the incessant bullying by the secular brigade. In fact most of the Indian middle class will now defend the very secular brigade even though doing so is against their own interests and nature. If that is not SSS, I don’t know what it is.


The Muslim mobs roasted the Kar sevaks alive did a huge favor to the secular brigade. Because the riots that followed saw more than 1400 dead muslims. What has always been ignored is the fact that more than 700 Hindus also died in those riots. No one also raises the original crime because the killings were done by Muslims. Why is that? It is because that way, the secular brigade ably assisted by the media and the leftist NGOs can keep the Hindu conservative on his or her backfoot and keep the middle of the road Hindus feeling guilty. All in all a perfect weapon for the secular brigade to control Hindus and keep their agenda alive and well. They have used this weapon to keep the most able leader in India down and have used every dirty trick in the book against him. It is a testament to Bhai Narendra Modi’s focus that he has marched on, undeterred, ignoring the hysterical liberal crowd and converted Gujarat into an economic juggernaut in the process. Now that he has rightly staked a claim for the top job, We are seeing the irrelevant term “secular” being thrown around by foes and some friends.


The Hindu middle class needs to grow a spine and stand up to the secular brigade and tell them off. We need to educate ourselves and make ourselves aware of what is it that makes us tick as people, society and a nation. When they think deeply about it, they will realize that it is a combination of our religion and culture (which in turn borrows heavily from our religion) that makes us who we are. When that realization sinks in then we will get the courage to stand up to these pseudo secular bullies.

Indian Taxpayer Is Not An ATM For Congress

Last year in August, when I saw Mulayam Yadav at Delhi airport, he looked like a politician who had seen better days. Accompanied by two ordinary looking cops with outdated carbines, he cut a sorry picture. Today, he is one of the most powerful men in the country (Thank You, voters of UP!). You see, unlike Mamta Bannerjee, he knows how to use his power. She is a rabble-rouser, he is a consummate politician who figured out Sonia Gandhi’s quandary, played Mamta for a fool and placed himself nicely in the “nautanki” that is the Indian presidential election. However, the biggest loser is not Mamta or the BJP. It is the aam aadmi.


The cost of Mulayam’s support is the money he needs to fulfill the promises made to the UP voters. It is estimated that the cost of the Yadav promise is 90+ thousand crores. He may not get all of it but will try to squeeze as much as he can out of a desperate Congress. Congress will cough up the money to prop up their lame duck government. The question to ponder here is – whose money is Congress going to spend to prop up their incompetent and corrupt government? It is the taxpayer money. The ruling party to keep their government afloat treats the Indian treasury like an ATM. The shameless Chandra Babu Naidu squeezed the Vajpayee government as an ATM with 23 MPs. Mulayam will probably win (Thank You Again, UP voters) 50+ seats in Lok Sabha. Imagine the kind of damage he is going to inflict on the Indian taxpayer!


I tried to find out how the Central government gives money to various states. There is a convoluted formula known as the Gadgil-Mukherjee (yes, Pranabda), which predictably assigns the highest weightage to population (55%). The vague Special Problems category is the loophole, which probably gets used by the central government to bribe the regional parties.

What this really means is that non-performing states like the BIMARU states get more money than they generate while high performers like Gujarat get punished. My efforts at getting real numbers came to a naught because statistics put out by the Indian Government Agencies are an impenetrable fog.


What I do get is that thanks to the demagogic regional Politicians and their ignorant supporters, the entire country suffers. Instead of learning the hard way and making tough choices, local politicians throw hissy fits and get what they want. Meanwhile the Central Government treats the treasury like their personal ATM.


A neutral party like the Supreme Court (and NOT like the election commission) needs to keep an eye on the money disbursed to the states. Responsible behavior and hard work should be rewarded. Irresponsible states should be shown tough love. That is the only way we can stop the abuse of our money. Recently, Manmohan Singh promised 10 billion dollars of Indian money to bail out European economy. Did he do so because of a possible negative impact of the EU downfall on the Indian Economy or so we can pretend to be a pseudo-superpower and that way he gets to shore up his legacy? We need an organization, which can ask these questions and be an impartial adjudicator in financial matters.

Is Nitish Kumar A Friend Of BJP?

Nitish Kumar says that he is not interested in becoming the PM. But his relentless attacks on Narendra Modi betray his intentions. He has been closely allied with the BJP which is closely allied with the RSS which has been blamed by the secular media for everything that is wrong with India. If they could blame World War I and II on the RSS they would. Nitish has had no problems with that because until now it suited his purpose. Secular media would have you believe that Nitish Kumar could win Bihar on his own. The numbers do not support that. An excellent analysis done by folks at centreright.in say have this to say:

In the 2010 election, the two parties (BJP and JD(U)) together polled about 39% of the votes. RJD in alliance with Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP polled about 27% of the votes. It is conceivable that most of these votes can be polled by the RJD on its own. In terms of seats though the BJP – JDU alliance walked away with over 80%. Congress which ruled state almost continuously from independence until 1990, polled about 8 % of the votes. In the event of RJD, LJP, and the Congress coming together and able to effect full vote transfers their total percentage will come to 35% Given the level of polarisation it may not have mattered much in terms of seats but the fight would have been much closer.

Simple fact is that in the event of JDU splitting from the BJP and facing an alliance of RJD – LJP – Cong, it will lose unless BJP’s share of votes is less than 5%. This certainly is not the case. Even without Cong an RJD with or without an alliance with LJP can make things quite hot for Nitish, if not actually defeat him as BJP’s own vote base will be more than 10%.

The Telegraph says the following in a revealing article:

These are faint dreams as the JD(U) hasn’t broken its ties with the BJP, which anyway has a much stronger organisation in Bihar than the Congress.

If Congress polled 8% and BJP is stronger in Bihar than Congress then it stands to reason that the BJP would poll much higher than the required 5%. Moreover, even if Nitish Kumar was a political juggernaut in Bihar and helped the BJP to the hilt in the last elections, it would still not explain BJP winning 91 seats out of 105 contested. Therefore, if JD(U) were to separate, you can almost bet that Lalloo Yadav would be back.

Then of course, JD(U) contested all the seats in the last UP elections and lost everyone of them including the ones in Eastern UP where it is likely that someone has heard of Nitish. He is strictly a state level phenomenon. The secular media is getting frustrated with the status quo but are scared of the alternative which is why everyone and their dog is trying to pump up Nitish Kumar. This seems to have gone to his head and he has started to fancy himself as a PM candidate. He will not shut up and continue on his tirade which is what the Congress wants. They are happy that the debate has moved from the most important issue for the aam aadmi (corruption) to an issue (communalism) which is manufactured by the incompetent secular buffoons and their friends in the media. If the next election is won by Congress because the corruption debate was replaced by a “so-called-communal vs. so-called-secular” debate, we will have to thank Nitish Kumar for that.

Nitish Kumar is a friend of the BJP when it suits him but is perfectly willing to behave like a crab (if I can’t escape the barrel then I will pull you down as well syndrome) when it does not.

Speaking of friends of the BJP, we have Brajesh Mishra giving us a vignette into his genius. The man who single handedly caused the Kandahar hijacking debacle (letting the plane fly out of Amritsar was due to a fight between the PMO and the defence) and should have been sued by the victims of Sheikh Omar (Daniel Pearl) and Masud Azhar (founder of JeM) has taken it upon himself to declare Narendra Modi an unfit candidate. It is a pity that men like him are still around and deemed relevant.

NV Subramanian has written an article where he ascribes to all this anti Modi tirade as a power play between Modi and all other PM aspirants like Nitish and Advani (I beg and beseech the RSS elders to tell Advani to shut up and move to Karachi).

Bringing Modi to the Centre means the full and final retirement of L.K.Advani and his generation of leaders. If they had a way, they wouldn't allow it. Then there are the ambitions of Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, etc, to consider. They have to work under Modi. But would they? Would there be sabotage if Modi is brought to the Centre? There is strong possibility of it.

The question to ponder is: With friends like these, do we need enemies?

Nitish Kumar's Attempts To Stop Narendra Modi

No one thought that Bhai Narendra’s path to the national scene was going to be easy. Advani is still not willing to leave the scene and is continuing on his petty path to self-destruction. The latest thorn is Nitish Kumar. Nitish says that he is not interested in the PM’s post. If you believe that then I have a marble building in Agra to sell you. Re-election in Bihar has gone to Nitish Kumar’s head. He forgets that BJP had a better win ratio (Candidates fielded versus candidates won). I am going to post some of his comments and then let you know what I think of them.

Nitish says: “The leader of the coalition should have secular credentials. It should be someone who has absolute faith in democratic values. In a multi-religious and multi-lingual country like ours, the leader should not have rough edges in his personality. An alliance can win the confidence of the people only if the leader is seen as accommodating,"

Of course Nitish did not have problem aligning with the BJP even though the BJP is closely aligned with the RSS, which by no stretch of imagination is a secular organization. So as long as it suits Nitish, he will go with the BJP. But when a man like Modi who has won every election in his state despite of the entire national media and central government against him, he suddenly has problems. He is now casting aspersions on Modi’s democratic values when Nitish Kumar’s victory has often been ascribed to social engineering. That is hypocrisy.

Nitish says: “Last week, Kumar told his party members that he will only support a secular candidate for the PM's post.”

It would seem that the most important criteria in the PM is the so-called secular credential. Well, does Nitish even know what true secularism is? After all, he is the one who has bend over Backwards to accommodate the Muslims in his state so much that Bihar now is the new hotbed for Islamic terror. Sacrificing the security of the state and the nation may be his idea of secularism but that is precisely what we are trying to move away from!

Nitish says: “The NDA should have a leader who can feel for underdeveloped states like Bihar. It should not be someone who can develop developed states."

When asked what he has done for the Muslims of Gujarat by Sachar Commission, Modi said – “Nothing”. He went on to say that I have not done anything for Hindus either. Whatever I have done is for the entire state of Gujarat. Does this sound like a man who is elitist in anyway? Two years after the Post Godhra Massacre riots, Modi won from Muslims dominated areas. Does Nitish Kumar have an explanation for that?

It seems that the favorite logic of every idiot opposed to Modi is that Modi led a developed state like Gujarat. They are right. Modi took over a developed state and made it into a juggernaut. That has caught the eyes of the entire world except for the liberal blind of India. It is always possible to make a good thing better which is what Modi has done.
Maharashtra was a developed state and top performer. However, during that last ten years of secular rule, they have gone to the bottom five states. Even Raj Thackray cannot blame it on migrants from UP and Bihar. What Modi has done for an already developed state of Gujarat cannot be discounted so easily. On the other hand taking over an abysmally bad state of Bihar and showing positive trends is not difficult. When you are in such a negative huge hole thanks to Lalloo rule, then anything you do is a positive. Even the common sense moves work for you. In fact all you have to do in states like UP and Bihar is “not steal”. That itself will show a positive trend. Nitish Kumar has a bloody long way before he can start comparing notes with Narendra Modi.

Well, Modi is going to be a national leader. He has to have an opinion on matters important to the entire country. There is no fight between Dalits and upper castes in Gujarat. In fact if it were not because of those murderous bastard Muslims who roasted the Hindu karsevaks alive, Gujarat would be the most peaceful state in the entire union. On the other hand, the recent murder of the Ranvir Sena chief in Bihar tells me that caste war is alive and well there. Nitish’s constant worry about his secular credentials also betray his fear of losing his votebank which means that he expects to win future elections in Bihar based on social engineering rather than performance. Modi has never ever talked about social engineering because he is going to win in 2012 state elections base on performance.

The more Nitish talks on the subject, the more he damages his own status. He is a regional leader of a small party and he should not forget that. Either he can support the BJP and help India and his state or he can accept the Gandhi family rule for the next five years. What would happen if the BJP pulls out of the coalition government in Bihar? So, develop the nation and your state or cut your nose to spite your face. The choice could not be starker for Nitish Kumar.

India Loses When Regional Parties Win

Clever politicking (by Congress), betrayal (by Mulayam Yadav), naïveté (by Mamta in trusting Mulayam) and a hopelessly divided opposition will hand a victory of sorts to Congress into getting their man in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. India is the loser. The only victory is that we get a seasoned politician in Mr. Pranab Mukherjee (can we stop calling him Pranab Da? He is 77 years old!) instead of a Gandhi Family loyalist like Hamid Ansari.


To call Congress weak would be an understatement. So how did they win? We have voters of UP and Poschim Bongo to thank. By electing a rabble-rouser (in Mamta) and a “nothing-ever-changes-in-UP” politician (in Mulayam), the voters have done a great disservice to the country. Readers of this blog are fully aware of our stand on the leaching effect that the regional parties have on the nation. At least the voters in Bengal have an excuse. They had never been under Mamta Bannerjee rule. They could not know that this woman is better suited to be in the opposition rather than in the ruling party where blaming the other guy is not the answer to all problems. The UP voters had been under the Samajwadi Party rule. They knew exactly who these guys are and yet the charming Akhilesh Yadav who turned out to be just a front for his father’s real party fooled them. SP goons are back and so is the gunda-raaj.


The President of India is a weapon of destruction in the hands of Congress and a rubber stamp in the hands of others. It really does not matter who wins because they have absolutely no impact on the lives of the aam aadmi. If Pratibha Patil can become the President then a lamppost would do just fine. So why is this victory of Congress bad for the country? It is because it is a sign of times to come.


Caste system to the society is the same as Regional parties to the Country. Regional parties are often feudal strongholds catering to a family or a group. The ignorant voters get manipulated in voting against their interests and that of the country. Examples are all over the place. For these feudal lords the state politics is nothing more than a modern day “zamindari” where the power has to stay with the family. I am sure that Mulayam Yadav has estimated how many seats is he going to win in the next general elections. I am sure it is going to be significant. That is why he is flexing his muscles. His daughter in law won unopposed because every one including the BJP is courting this guy. He is going to get what he wants, the nation be damned. All thanks to the voters of UP who believe that vote and daughters should be given to person of the same caste.


This is precisely my biggest gripe against the current avatar of our political system. Regional parties are not answerable to voters from other states and yet they exercise power over all. This is why, when a regional party wins, India loses.

Manmohan Singh Is Not An Honest Man

A site on religious faith says the following about sins:


Sins fall generally under two ways; the sins of commission and the sins of omission.


The first, sins of commission, is a category of sin describing the things we did but shouldn't have.


The second, sins of omission, are the sins of not doing what we should have. We don't think as much about the sin of omission even though it is as pernicious and destructive as anything we could commit.


Dictionary.com defines the word honest as:

Honorable in principles, intentions, and actions; upright and fair: an honest person.


If the above concepts are correct then someone who does not steal only fulfills one criteria of honesty. However, if that person is not honorable or commits the sin of omission then they are not honest.


Manmohan Singh may not steal personally but he is far from being an honest person. It is that one solitary criteria that he uses as an excuse to hold onto his post. Let us take another leader from the past. Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned as Minister for Railways when there was a major accident (compare him with Lalloo or Mamta). He took failures of LBS the PM as that of LBS the Man. Now that was an honest man.


Manmohan Singh has clung to his Kursi while committing scores of sins of omission in the name of “Coalition Dharma”. His lust for power seems to match the lust for money that his colleagues have. He has steadfastly refused to do anything about the numerous cases of corruption that his government is involved in. That is a sign of a sinner and not an honorable man. Anyone who still calls him an honest man including the ever-vacillating Anna Hazare (why cant an honest man like Anna call Singh for what he truly is?) need to read this blogpost.


His other claim to fame is his expertise in Economics. I have not idea of Economics. I can barely manage my own money. But what I do know is that despite of its place in the emerging economies, India is about to lose its investment grade ratings. This seems to be the last straw. With rising prices and all other economic indices in the toilet, life of the aam aadmi has become worse than intolerable.
 
Manmohan Singh is guilty of heading the most corrupt and inept government in the history of our unfortunate country. It is a testament to an even more inept opposition and an ineffective democratic institution that the UPA is still in power. In any other civilized country, they would have been booted out long time ago.

Social Activism, Conservatism and Indian Media

People in the Indian media and entertainment industry are avowed leftists. Well, most of them are. They are also shamelessly self-serving. Even their social endeavors are often a veneer for their hypocrisy. On one hand Arundhati Roy does not shut up about the Maoist tribals being victims and then she builds her own house on land usurped from tribals. Journalists like Vir Singhvi and Barkha Dutt who have been raised to the levels of heroes by misguided and brainwashed Indians got a first hand chance to see their true nature in the 2G scams. These two turned out to be as big crooks as they are expected to expose. Examples are all over the place. Moviemakers like Anurag Kashyap, Nandita Das and others do not lose an opportunity to mock conservative Hindus with their lopsided and extremely biased narratives.


I would say that it is very hard to find patriotic, conscientious and socially aware people in the media and entertainment industry. Harder still would be to find people with such qualities who actually do something about the social ills of the country. It, of course would be well near impossible to find such people who are politically conservative as well. Recent events have breathed a new hope in me.


Leading the pack of such people is Amir Khan with his show Satyamev Jayate. Though not the best of actors, he is one of the most accomplished moviemakers in India. His association with the movie “Rang De Basanti” was very encouraging. He tried to make patriotism cool and thus should be acknowledged for that. His show has been the real eye opener. A lot of people including us talk about social problems and their solutions. However, we do not have the forum or the celebrity of an Amir Khan. He could have gone the route of the rest of his Bollywood ilk and done a show about some pop-entertainment / sleazy / game reality show and made money. But he took the road not travelled and is opening eyes of Indians who have become comfortably numb. We all know that the problems exist but it takes an Amir Khan to re-open India’s eyes to them. It speaks poorly of the Indian middle class that it takes an actor to make us aware of problems surrounding us but Mother India is happier nonetheless.


Amitabh Bachchan’s rise from a middle class UP family to the height of superstardom is, for complete lack of a better word, inspiring. To me, who USED TO BE a huge fan, he often seems to be a weak man trapped in the material world with no concern for the society’s weak. He has risen from that cesspool and done things to redeem him self time and time again although it always feels that a man of his celebrity could do a lot more. So when he decided to stand next to Narendra Modi and become a brand ambassador of Gujarat, I was surprised. By all imagination, Modi’s name must be a filthy word in Bollywood where Muslims have tremendous power and hold an enormous sway. For Bachchan to share the stage with Modi indicates that despite of all his trappings, he is willing to take a tough decision and do the right thing even if it may mean antagonizing his entire acting fraternity.


Actors like Anupam and Kiron Kher have been admirers of conservative politics. I hope that it is not only due to their views on J&K. Then we have Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar who have probably broken ranks to express their admiration for Modi’s administrative abilities. They may have been there to make money via investments but to come out in public and express their sentiments like this has to be commended. But the most admirable of all these people is Paresh Rawal who, in an interview, expressed an unabashed admiration for Modi and described him as an honest politician who is a visionary with no hidden agenda. Appropriate words for Bhai Narendra indeed.


I hope and pray that Indian media would do their job fairly. I hope that Indian movie stars, who hold such sway over the lives of Indians would take upon themselves to do right by Indian society and follow the suit of Amir Khan with actual deeds rather than just TV spots and shows. That would be something.

Modi As PM: Path Forward For BJP

As the readers of our blog know, we have been clamoring for resolution of the leadership in the BJP. For the wrong reasons (striking a deal to keep Gadkari for another term) and improper way (Bhai Narendra had to threaten to boycott the party meet), the party and the RSS elders decided to accept what was widely accepted all over the country and even abroad – an honest shot at the PM position for Narendra Modi. Having done that, what lies ahead for the BJP? I have following thoughts on the matter.


1. No sooner did the leadership resolution take place than the entire loony left wing spring into motion. Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari (until he gets caught in a financial or sex scandal like the last two) compared Bhai Modi to Goebbels who was Hitler’s PR man. Long time ago, Sonia Gandhi had called Modi “Maut Ka Saudagar”. Praful Bidwai who has more readers in Pakistan than India has gone on another tirade. This is going to get a lot worse before it either stops or becomes better. The BJP workers and supporters will have to ignore this din, rise above it and work tirelessly at grassroots level to ensure a huge Hindu turnout in the next general election.


2. Leadership resolution also implies that the other PM aspirants in the BJP will have to accept Modi as the man. LK Advani has gone berserk. Sushmaji is sulking. Jaitley is the only one who has not said anything. Either he has accepted Modi’s ascension or he is too sophisticated to come out in the open. This will also not going to end soon. This kind of “Samudra Manthan was only expected. We can hope that some “amrit’ comes out of this. Now the party can wait until Modi is completely accepted as the party leader or the sulking leaders will have to be left out in the cold.


3. LK Advani will have to be dealt with sooner than later. This man has been providing the liberal lobby a lot of anti BJP ammunition. Peripheral leaders and pro BJP scribes have begun to write about it, which is a very good idea. That way party leadership has deniability. However, Advaniji needs to realize that if he does not go away soon, he will be dragged out. We all want to remember him as the man who made BJP relevant, not the man who lost us 2004 and 2009 elections or the man of today.


4. From the sounds coming out of Gujarat BJP, it would seem that all Modi detractors are uniting. The likes of Keshubhai Patel could not be trying to stop Modi’s ascension. They are more likely trying to step into his shoes when Modi becomes a national leader for the BJP, PM or not. These guys are a frustrated lot who have not been able to cash in on Gujarat’s prosperity. The succession of Modi should be left to Modi. Since he is rumored to be an authoritarian, this may be a valuable lesson for him in diplomacy and compromise. After all, if and when he becomes the PM, he will have to lead India which is a lot bigger and much more complex than a state. He will have to trust others and delegate authority.


5. I would imagine that after a long time, the BJP workers are hopeful. They now have a chance to win at the center behind a tall leader like Modi. They will have to start now and mobilize grass root level support. A huge united Hindu turnout is imperative for BJP’s victory. BJP’s leadership at state and national level will have to present a picture of unimpeachable unity and integrity. BJP allies like Nitish Kumar who have their own ambitions will have to be either taken into confidence or replaced with newer and likeminded allies.


6. The BJP will have to re-present themselves as the party of difference and a real national alternative to the current corrupt regime. This will mean allying themselves with honest and capable regional leaders. Kowtowing to the likes of Jagan Reddy for short-term gains in Andhra should be avoided at all cost. Hitherto unexplored regions like Kerala and TN should be evaluated right now. Winnable spots (for example places in Kerala where the Hindus have been victimized by Commies, Christians and Muslims) should be identified. Time and resources should be spent on those areas. No effort should be spent trying to win Muslim votes because that will never happen. Let the pseudo secular parties divide up that piece of the pie.


The BJP owes it to the nation to free the country of the current government, which by all indications is the most corrupt and ineffective in the history of our nation. The ineffective Gadkari may have become the BJP president but hopefully, the more capable leaders led by Modi will have to formulate a plan for victory in the next elections.


Modi as PM is an idea whose time has come. It is time the country and the aam aadmi get a leader who can bring about a real change in the country.

Liberals Do Not Want Hindu-Muslim Peace

An article by a sorry and a pathetic excuse of an Indian by the name of Shivam Vij caught my eye. He has never written in any paper worth its salt. I assume that he was hired by the anti Hindu leftist brigade in response to the latest poll, which clearly portrays Bhai Narendra Modi as the most popular PM candidate. Most of Vij’s article is usual pile of smelly feces peppered with anti Modi invectives like calling him a fascist, a tormentor of Muslims, credit grabber for Gujarati entrepreneurship etc. This article has been written with an ulterior motive. Since all of the leftist-liberal brigades’ attempts at demonizing Modi in the eyes of the aam aadmi have failed, they have to try another trick, which is appeal to the voters’ sense of rationale and logic. Vij weaves prejudices, half-truths and deception in his narrative and tries to convince us that with Modi, BJP cannot win. Unfortunately for him (and fortunately for us), his immense hatred for Modi comes through clearly betraying his true motive for this article.


Vij sounds like the kind of Congress / Gandhi family loyalist for whom India comes second. So his article does not surprise me. We have read better quality lies against Modi. What is striking about this article is the rift this guy tries to create between sections of Indian population. Read the following two statements.


"Gadkari is party president. He was forced to the national stage by the RSS. Despite his sagging popularity, the RSS thinks he's a nice guy, because he's after all a Marathi Brahmin, just like the RSS top brass in Nagpur.”


“In other words, North Indian Muslims will keep the tormentor of Gujarati Muslims in check! “


Think about it. If two people have buried the hatchet or are trying to do so, then the worst thing someone can do is bring their differences to the fore and tell one party that the other is trying to act against their interests. By highlighting the Brahmin issue (Gadkari and RSS elders) he is trying to create a rift between Hindus.


We all know that the Muslims will NEVER vote for the BJP. Despite that we are all trying to forget about it and move on in the interest of the nation. By reminding us of the Muslim opposition, he is trying to dig into old wounds, which we have tried to fill with great difficulty. All that is going to do is stir up the nascent Hindu anger against the Muslims.


The question to ask is- Why is this leftist liberal trying to create a rift between Brahmins and non–Brahmins and then between Hindus and Muslims? The answer to the first is easy. If Hindus stay divided then BJP will lose and these pseudo-secular parties can continue their rape of the nation.

The answer to the second is not that obvious. Who benefits from the animosity between Hindus and Muslims? It certainly is not the Hindus. It hurts us because it creates an atmosphere detrimental to progress of the nation and pursuit of prosperity. It is not beneficial to the Muslim aam aadmi because he has to feed his children. The only people who benefit are the Jihadi types who want to convert India into the dar-ul-Islam, which is a different fight. It also benefits the pseudo-secular, liberal leftist Hindu leaders who have anointed themselves the caretakers of Muslim interests.


Think about it. If the Hindus and Muslims made complete peace (impossible task but for the argument sake we can assume) then leaders like Mulayam Yadav, Lalloo Yadav and even Congress lose their biggest platform and become irrelevant. Hindu leftist liberals (JNU types) and NGO’s (Teesta Setlavad types) will also become irrelevant. These people do not mind being hated. But they are terrified of becoming irrelevant. That is the reason the Hindu leaders, journalists, activists do not want any peace between Hindus and Muslims. They also want to keep Hindus divided.


In a Gujarati village, which was hit by the Post Godhra Massacre riots, Muslims helped with the wedding of a Hindu tribal girl. There are a lot of signs that the Gujarati Muslims want to move on and reap the benefits of the economic progress of the state. It is these anti Hindu, anti India liberals who want to keep the Hindu-Muslim issue on the boil.

Indian Politican's Concern: Cartoons Not Problems

A while ago, Anna Hazare or a member of his group used a mild invective to describe an Indian politician. Predictably, the MPs took great umbrage to it and used worse invectives for Anna.


In another incident, a cartoon in an NCERT book which showed a cartoon of Babasaheb Ambedkar. A harmless cartoon became enough of an issue that MPs from all political parties, including BJP. All cartoons are going to be removed from NCERT books now. Our democracy is now saved. Of course these books have completely wiped out mention of real incidents like the Moplah Massacre in the name of secularism. Protecting the kids is an important issue among Indian politicians. Not from poverty, hunger, abuse, ill health etc but cartoons. This is what some of our esteemed leaders said:


Kapil Sibal : 'I am of the mind that a large number of depictions in these cartoons are offensive and inappropriate for textbooks.'


Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Akali Dal MP : 'These textbooks are poisoning young impressionable minds'.


Sonia Gandhi: is said to have banged the table in approval (removing the cartoons)) when she heard that.


BJP MP Yashwant Sinha is afraid that such textbooks will 'mould the minds of students to hate politicians, politics and endanger democracy.'


In a separate incident, some Professor in Poschim Bongo had the chutzpah to make a cartoon of Mamta Bannerjee. He was arrested and treated like a criminal. However when it came to Shahrukh Khan and his scuffle with the Police, these are some of the expressions she used:


undemocratic" and a "minor" matter had been blown out of proportion.


"It is undemocratic and unwarranted.


"I think that harsh punishment has been meted out for a minor offence. The game should be taken as a game only. I am speaking not as a chief minister, but as a commoner," she said.


"This incident has been blown out of proportion.


"I was not at the spot, but what I watched or heard from TV, it is not a big issue. This is a small incident," the chief minister said.


The irony in this has to be clear to all but the TMC loyalists.


Since Didi and other politicians are well versed with what is minor or undemocratic or a small incident etc., they should know the importance of free speech in a Democracy. After all, free speech is one of the bedrocks of Democracy. In civilized and mature democracies, death threats and yelling fire in a crowded place are the only things not protected by freedom of speech. The press routinely skewers western leaders. Their personal lives are laid bare for all to see. They are mocked and humiliated on a regular basis. Yet the law so protects the people from any blowback from politicians.


Democracy and free speech give us the right to speak our mind and criticize our politicians if they do something wrong. After all, they are answerable to the aam aadmi and not the other way around. We elect them for a short period of time. We do not anoint them kings or queens. Cartoons and satires are acceptable forms of speech, cruel as they maybe. Their importance in literature and media cannot be denied by anyone except the closed-minded. If the politicians are not going to listen to us maybe they will respond to cartoons and satires. Would the Politicians rather have the aam aadmi bring out pitchforks and torches?


India is facing too many problems. Our netas and babus should focus on the real problems instead of cartoons. Banning cartoons will not make improve their opinions in the mind of the aam aadmi. In fact if any of these netas and babus find out what we really think of them then they will hang themselves in shame provided if they have any shame.


A Raja is back in the Loksabha the day after he was released from the prison for a 1.76 Lakh Crore graft. How should the aam aadmi look at this? A cartoon would be the most harmless way of expressing our anger.

RSS Leaders Are Wrong About Gadkari And Narendra Modi

To lead an organization which is nationalistic / religious / charitable in nature, a person has to be capable, accountable and humble while taking pride in the organization he is heading. Humility is important because in such an organization, a person needs to set aside his personal ambitions.


However, if the organization is a state or a country and the leader is a politician, then the rules change. Of course, the person needs to be extremely capable, accountable and honest but should he also be humble? A person who thinks that he can lead a state or a country cannot be a humble man. They have to have extreme confidence bordering on hubris and are likely to have a streak of megalomania. In fact you almost want these qualities in a politician. An extremely humble man, Lal Bahadur Shastri was no match for vultures around him.


Now an honest, capable, accountable and supremely confident / arrogant man can accommodate others who have similar ideology and interests as long as their ambitions do not clash. However, such a person cannot be realistically expected to submit to the diktats of others. Such a person may work well within a party with a strong ideology or some other strong binding factor. However, after establishing their “frontrunner” status, they would almost demand others to rally behind them. A perfect example is the way a presidential nominee is selected in the US where after an acrimonious primary; the entire party comes to support the eventual nominee.


We all know that the RSS elders almost get to decide who becomes what in the BJP. In that way, the BJP does act like they are the political wing of the RSS. Those elders are leaders in an organization which demands that everyone in it submit to the organization and sacrifice their personal ambitions if need be. While that may be a good idea for grass roots level politics, it is a bad idea for a national politician. As discussed earlier, a candidate for PM will have a strong personality that cannot be controlled by the RSS (otherwise you will have a disaster like Manmohan Singh).


If the RSS elders want to stay involved and more importantly, stay relevant then they should ready to accept a person who is honest, capable and strong leader who works largely within the party ideology and keeps the nation above all. The RSS elders CANNOT afford to keep such a person out because he does not submit to their diktats. In other words they need to keep their own egos in check for the benefit of the country. Time after time we have seen that being an old time RSS loyalist is no guarantee of a good leader. Bangaru Laxman (graft), Sanjay Joshi (sex scandal), Shankersinh Vaghela (traitor to the BJP) and now, Nitin Gadkari (extremely incompetent) are RSS stalwarts who have nothing but shame and failure to the BJP.


Even as I write this, there are plans to rewrite the BJP rules to enable a second Gadkari term. Gadkari is like BJP’s Rahul Gandhi with some differences. Gadkari is not as good looking. Unlike Gadkari, Rahul does not faint in the hot Sun. Gadkari is also much more like to make public gaffes because of his loud mouth. Of course Rahul has the backing of the Congress royal family and Gadkari has the backing of the RSS elders. In any organization where capability was valued over loyalty to the decision makers, Gadkari would have been discarded like sour milk. Yet in BJP, he is poised for a second term, thanks to the RSS elders. Just as he did in UP, he will bungle up BJP’s chances in the next national elections and we will have the RSS elders to thank for that. I hope that those elders will have the courage and integrity to accept the blame.


It is a national tragedy that the BJP has a leader like Narendra Modi who has proven himself over and over and is now widely recognized the world over as a capable leader. However, he does not submit to the whims of the RSS, VHP and ambitious but incapable BJP leaders and therefore he will remain in Gujarat. Just like the RSS leaders, Modi has a big ego (and justifiably so) but he remains the best bet for India. Ironically, Modi will be brought down not by the leftists and liberals but his own party people. Such is our luck.

Nitish Kumar Koh Gussa Kyon Aata Hai?

Karnataka Police has arrested a suspected terrorist from village in Bihar's Darbhanga District for a blast that took place outside Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium two years ago. Apparently they did so without informing the Bihar officials. Sort of like the US swooping into Pakistan and killing Bin Laden. It seems that this has upset Nitish Kumar greatly. I wanted to throw your way a few thoughts on why he is angry and who is really responsible.

First of all, any decision to go after any high profile criminal or a terrorist (especially a Muslim) has to be taken by a group which probably has an IAS and an IPS officer along with the blessings of a politician. None of these are the kind to put their careers on the line for national security. So this decision must have been made with with prudence and calmly. The fact that they did not inform Bihar authorities about this has serious implications. The biggest is that they did not trust the Bihar Police or the politicians. What makes it worse is that Karnataka is ruled by the BJP and in Bihar they are the junior partners to JD(U) which is why one would expect the Karnataka police and politicians to treat even more gently because they would not want their partner government to look bad.

Is it this display of mistrust that has upset Nitish Kumar greatly?

Is it because Nitish Kumar thinks that the sovereignty of his government was violated?

Is it because the integrity of his government was in question?

Is it that the terrorist turned out to be a Muslim who seem to be getting a satin glove treatment under Nitish Kumar?

Or is it because this is one more evidence that Nitish Kumar’s love for Muslim votes is causing him to turn a blind eye towards the rapid rise of Bihar as an Islamic terror hotbed?

If the Karnataka government did not trust their ilk in Bihar, then who can question them? To them getting the suspect was more important than ruffled Bihari feathers. What is obvious is that whatever the reason for Nitish Kumar’s anger maybe, he has a huge problem. India is a soft state in dealing with terrorism. It would seem that Bihar is softer. That is a trend initiated by Nitish’s predecessors who were the worst of votebank politicians. Nitish Kumar needs to take strong steps to deal with this issue. I am happy that beyond his first reaction, he has not escalated this issue. If only he could use the same judiciousness in dealing with the real problem.

Yet Another Attempt To Bring Narendra Modi Down

Supreme Court of India (if they still are relevant in this Ravan Rajya) appointed SIT gave a clean chit to Bhai Narendra Modi. This must have been the umpteenth time he has been exonerated. Enemies like lalloo Yadav could not bring this man down. Congress has been trying to besmirch this tall leader for eight years with nothing to show for it. Now some guy called Raju Ramchandran has found a loophole in our laws. This is what this guy says:

"In my opinion, the offences which can be made out against Shri Modi, at this prima facie stage, are offences inter alia under Sections 153 A (1) (a) & (b) of IPC which means promoting enmity among different groups on grounds of religion and 153 B (1) which says assertions prejudicial to national integration," He (Modi) should also be prosecuted under IPC 166 which says public servant disobeying law, with intent to cause injury to any person and 505 (2) meaning statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will," the amicus curiae said in the report.

Wow! He has a Title in Latin. WOW. I don’t know if this guy even knows what his title means. For his benefit, his title means the following:

"... a phrase that literally means "friend of the court" -- someone who is not a party to the litigation, but who believes that the court's decision may affect its interest."

Of course in this context it means loyal servant of the Congress and the family. This guy is trying to do what Teesta Setalvad and Sanjiv Bhatt have not been able to do.

Someone needs to tell this man that in his sure to be doomed attempt in trying to implicate Bhai Modi, he is opening up a can of worms he will not be able to control. Late Rajiv Gandhi, in response to the slaughter of Sikhs, said that when a big tree falls, earth shakes. He did not say that in some secret meeting like Sanjiv Bhatt claims about Bhai Narendra. Gandhi said this out loud and in the open. IPC 166 and 502 (2) apply much more to Rajiv Gandhi than anyone else in Indian politics. Men like Tytler are still in the Congress. The Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid has incited hatred against Hindus and India on more than one occasion and yet nothing was ever done to him. Men like Zakir Naik and various other Muslim demagogues have sad and done far worse than Rajiv Gandhi and yet are protected by the Indian Law and from it as well. WHY? The answer is obvious to all but the intellectually blind.

The real reason is that the state elections in Gujarat are at the end of this year and Congress has as much chance of winning it as I have of winning the best actor award in the next Oscars. They are a desperate lot and are carrying out a campaign in hopes that some thing may stick to Modi and he MAY lose. That way they will be able to show one victory in Rahul Gandhi’s kitty who has nothing to show but one big failure after another.

Congress is pretending to be the David who is going to bring down a Goliath. It is actually Bhai Narendra who is the David and is going to bring down Congress. People of Gujarat are not going to fall for this sort of nasty campaign and will bring Modi back with an overwhelming majority which will be the appropriate answer to all of Modi haters.

It is too much to ask the rest of Indian voters to elect Modi as our next PM. We are not that lucky. But Gujaratis know something that the rest of the brainwashed Indian voters do not know.

India’s President: A Rubber Stamp Or Worse?

John Quincy Adams said: If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.

Does that sound like any of our Presidents? Other than Rajendra Prasad or APJ Kalam, no one fits the description. Leaders are supposed to lead and inspire. If they cannot do so then they should at least look the part. Even a basket case and failed country like Pakistan had a man like Zardari who presents a much more impressive picture than Pratibha Patil (his extreme corrupt past notwithstanding). I am only talking about the way they look while standing next to other leaders.

But let us move beyond looks. In my memory, other than President APJ Kalam, we have never had a president whom we could call President with any degree of pride. Kalam does not look good either. However, in every other way, the man is extremely impressive and inspiring. He was a worthy leader of the nation. He is someone who defines the term – President. However, the Congress definition of president is entirely different. For them, a President is someone who can help the Congress manipulate our Democratic set up to their advantage (at best) or completely subvert Democracy (at worst). After Rajendra Prasad, Kalam was the only worthy man. The rest were the kind to do Congress’ bidding is bringing down non Congress state governments, help impose emergency, manipulate the mandate in Loksabha, manipulate the elections to Congress’ advantage etc. Mrs. Indira Gandhi was a master manipulator of the system. The system still continues as we can see.

To suit their needs, the Congress has always looked for loyalists to install in the President’s chair. Qualifications range from extreme loyalty to making Paratha’s for the Gandhi family ( as has been alleged in case of Pratibha Patil). Giani Zail Singh could not even speak coherently in public. The current President is as impressive as a wet cardboard box and is only known for racking up huge travel bills and helping her son build up his fortune. Of course, another qualification is that the candidate cement the secular credentials of the Congress. It is sickening. Why do we have to have a Muslim or some other minority in the President’ chair? The noise from the likes of Mulayam Yadav and the Communists is amazing. One needs to ask if Mulayam Yadav would ever consider a Muslim leader as a Chief Minister of UP? If not, then why is he hell bent on imposing one on the nation especially some pliant Gandhi Family loyalist like Hamid Ansari?

Indian President is a rubber stamp and a farcical leader. That post is being made into a bigger farce by our political parties with their selfish agendas and brazen pseudo-secularism. Of course I should grow a tail before expecting our leaders to do the right thing.
