Traditionally Ganesh chaturthi is a simple one day celebration of Lord Ganesha’s birthday. It was transformed to Ganapati Utsav and into an elaborate public celebration where patriotic ideas could be shared and spread. Thus the Swadeshi Movement was born. The brains behind this were deshbhakts from across India like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bipin Chandra Pal, Aurobindo Ghose and Veer Savarkar. The Swadeshi movement quickly gathered force across the country. Many Indian owned industries like the Bombay mills and (Jamshedji Tata owned) steel plant in Bihar, took root. It became a matter of pride to wear dhotis of local handloom cloth rather than fashionable Manchester cottons. Student volunteers encouraged people to use Indian products. Popular enthusiasm was sustained by songs written by Rabindranath Tagore and others. Vande Mataram by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee became the national anthem. Swadeshi Movement was a popular strategy for eradicating the British rule and rid the country of poverty.Swadeshi Movement was described by Mahatma Gandhi as the soul of self rule in the country. But today our desi public and the congress neta’s have pledged their soul to an Italian Signora. We know so little about her and her past. Selfish congress politicians with personal agenda wanted a “vote-catcher” and thrust the congress presidentship upon her. Her launch in Indian politics was so un-democratic. A controversial coup was arranged by her coterie to push out the then Congress president Sitaram Kesri and make way for her first election as Congress president on March 14, 1998. The country is getting ready to crown Rahul without properly vetting him for prime ministership, not because he is deserving but because he belongs to the Nehru-Gandhi Dynasty.
It’s a tragedy that the majority liberal India is not bothered by the videshi congress which betrays it's hatred for all things swadeshi by letting loose terms like “Saffron Terror”. Isn’t it time the desi public start another swadeshi movement, a modern day equivalent of Mahabharata, by the majority civilization, against a host of anti National, internal and external forces – the international church, the Islamic world and its terrorist outfits – that is all out to deny Mother India its moment of security and glory.
The world does not feel India to be a secure place and recently published UN report said that India has added 100 million more people below the poverty line. All that the desi public got from 60 years of Congress family dynasty raj is a insecure country and a “Garibi Hatao” slogan.
