Snoopgate: Congress Vocal and Modi Silent. Why?

Couple of pinko websites have dug up some information on the use of Gujarat state government machinery being used for civilian surveillance. A desperate Congress all set to lose three, maybe four out of five state elections has latched on to this “scandal”. With Rahul Gandhi drawing anorexic crowds and getting booed, his darbaris are desperate to divert the attention of voters elsewhere. Unfortunately for them, the friend and attack dog Tarun Tejpal got caught raping his daughter best friend. Unable to come to his defence directly, the Congress mandarins are trying their damndest to see if they can make this so called snoopgate amount to something. They are screaming at their loudest while Bhai Narendra Modi and the BJP have stayed silent on the matter.

I wondered about the reasons. It is obvious why Congress is screaming bloody murder, trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. As a law abiding citizen, if true, it bothers me that state government machinery was used for personal purposes. We will leave that for later investigations. However, I live in the real world and not in some teenaged Utopian India. I see government vehicles being used by Class 1 officers and the entire neta class for their personal use. Sarkari peons are more servants of the brown sahibs than aam janta. Government owned bungalows are used as vacation homes by the privileged and the very same are used to barter favors (four of them were given by Congress to Mayawati for favors). The same Congress uses our top notch commandos as their private guards. So if Modi has to be investigated for use of sarkari outfits then so do millions of Class 1 officers and every neta in New Delhi. Think about it. When industrialists allow Sonia Gandhi to go abroad in their private planes, what do they get in return from Congress? Has that ever been investigated?

Forgetting the use of sarkari machinery for private use, let us focus on the snooping issue. Isn’t it true that the then Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee’s office was bugged by the Congress themselves? These guys were snooping on their own man. How many of their enemies were snooped on? One cannot even imagine and now he same Congress has the chutzpah to raise their finger at Modi/Shah? Seeing how they are trying to help Tejpal, any attempt to accuse Congress of hypocrisy is a waste of breath. Snoopgate in today’s corrupt India is like a parking violation in Nazi Germany.

But why are Modi and BJP silent on the matter? I do not know but I can guess by the way Modi is campaigning. So far the man has run his campaign in the American style. Aggressive, targeted, interactive, informative and entertaining, his rallies have captured the imagination of voters. He has a message and to deviate from that would mean hitting a speed bump in the middle of a car race. I think that the BJP will address the issue after the last vote is cast in Delhi elections and the results either become obvious or are declared. That will the wise move and I think that is the plan. Four losses destroy Congress. I predict an internal revolt in the party directed against the family. If god forbid, Congress manages to wrest Chhattisgarh out of BJP’s hand then the Congress spinmeisters will claim victory. That will give Congress some breathing room. Even so, the snoopgate fight will be best fought then. You see, it will get ugly and the BJP will have to get down to Congress’ level. After the elections, they can fight and win. But do so right now will be playing in Congress’ hands and it will take away from Modi’s brilliant campaign narrative. I think this is why the BJP is postponing the fight. Right now it is important that the BJP focus on winning and energizing their vote base and attracting the undecided voters for 2014 elections. Everything else is baseline noise.

Is Tarun Tejpal Pressurizing Congress?

It is surely is fun watching the downfall of maybe the biggest hypocrite in Indian media. Of course with so many of them around, to be the biggest hypocrite has to be an honor for Tarun Tejpal who now stands accused of carrying out a different kind of “sting operation” on his daughter’s best friend. Even the pimp on the street is shaking his head in disgust.

The way the whole thing went down in Goa clearly indicates that this is not the first time Tejpal has raped someone. The sheer brazenness of his attack on this star struck newbie is indicative of the way men in power in India think. This creep is clearly connected well with people in Congress as well as establishment in India. He thought he was going to get away like has so far.

What he did not figure was with Congress facing certain defeat in four states and not faring in their showdown with the political tsunami known as Narendra Damodardas Modi. How could Sibal, Tiwari, Digvijay could come out to openly defend someone who had his finger in some innocent girl’s vagina? His support in the Indian media who look upon this sleazebag as a moral crusader for the leftist cause is slowly evaporating. I refuse to believe that the women in media have not heard about this worm’s proclivities so far. I guess so far they turned a blind eye to his rapes / sexual conquests. Now with irrefutable proofs including his own confession, they have to face up to the truth: Their hero is a lowest of the low. Some on the media have accepted while others like Shoma Chaudhary and Vinod Mehta (Editor of the nudie magazine Debonair – another paragon of virtue) are still fighting on this guy’s behalf.

Now another sarkari babu who seems to be more crooked than a corkscrew has accused Narendra Modi of improper behavior. This indicted babu Pradeep Sharma is trying to bolster the so called snooping case with falsehoods (alleging illicit relations between Modi and the girl in question) since the whole snooping case has so far been a non starter. The timing of this Sharma’s accusation is curious. If there was any impropriety on Modi’s part why has this man stayed quiet so far? Clearly this man is another Sanjiv Bhatt who credibility is equal to that of a street drug dealer.

Another question to ask is why has Sharma who is under a whole lot of legal trouble (Land grab cases are easy to prove or disprove so if they are pending still they must be valid) has decided to go on attack when Congress and their attack dog is in trouble? Another bothersome thing is the complete silence of Congress mandarins on this rape issue especially when it is hard for some of these to stay quiet. Is it possible that Tarun Tejpal who is a voyeur and a pervert is privy to secrets of Congress personnel and is in a position to threaten them? If that is the case, the Congress is going to do the best to either directly help Tejpal by obstructing the investigation (Is Shoma Chaudhary working at their behest? After all loyalty to one’s boss only goes so far and goes a lot less in case of a criminal case) or by diverting attention (by attempting to besmirch the hero of the opposition – Narendra Modi).

This Pradeep Sharma should be held accountable for loose talk and made to come forward with this so called proof. By his loose and criminally irresponsible talk, he has bringing shame to the names of a prominent national leader and an innocent girl (are innocent girls pawns in the hands of Congress and their goons?). Meanwhile the Congress whose founding father was Jawaharlal “I love Edwina Mountbatten” Nehru should be careful in casting aspersions on the character of anyone. They should remember that their guy has been going around the world sowing his wild oats. Would they want the skeletons in his closet to tumble out?

Modi Benefits Congress In The Long Term

Congress was a mess in the second half of 1990s. Party was in a disarray with no capable leaders on the horizon. Party faithful went after the Congressi magic bullet – The Gandhi Family. The party workers were galvanized and united behind the family. The voters’ curiosity was piqued. And why not? A white skinned widow with a good looking son and a daughter were a surefire crowd pullers. Come 2004, the BJP launched their ill-fated India shining campaign and lost to Congress. Sonia turned down the PM post in what is widely deemed as a gesture of sacrifice. We all really know why she did that. Gandhi family myth was born and it was protected by severe ferocity by the inner circle (Oscar Fernandez, Ahmad Patel, Janardhan Dwivedi, Ambika Soni, Digvijay Singh et. al.) and people who questioned the validity or authority or capability were put down ruthlessly by various means. A rot set in and we saw a decade long reign of plunder.

After 2009, with scams stumbling out of closet, state elections had to be won. Congress was forced to field Rahul Gandhi. They lost every election. Scams, rising prices, falling rupee, deteriorating law and order, Chinese incursions and a slew of other issues started to leach the sheen of the family. Non Congress people found themselves vindicated in their beliefs about the family. Congress workers were still not asking why the emperor had no clothes.

With four important state elections leading up to the 2014 general elections on the cards, Congress inner circle was forced to put Rahul Gandhi out. After all, they had sold him and his mother to their workers as panacea for all ills- Congress’ and the nation’s. With every public appearance, Rahul was exposed. On the flip side, Congress’ bête noire Narendra Modi seems to be going from strength to strength. Now it seems that local leaders in Delhi elections do not want Rahul Gandhi to appear in their rallies anymore. I have a feeling that if the Congress loses the four important state elections, a revolt will break out in Congress. We may not see it because the inner circle will do their best to contain it. But we will see signs of it.

So who is going to be the next savior of Congress? Who is going to rid the party of crooks and bring up capable leaders? A staunch BJP supporter, I realize the importance of a capable and a good opposition. Every successful democracy has two major parties. It is important that Congress remain a viable nation alternative albeit not in its current avatar. I have the perfect person in mind, a man who is going to show Congress the mirror. In fact he is doing so even now. I am speaking of Bhai Narendra Modi. How can Narendra Modi save Congress? Am I drunk or mad? I will try to explain how Modi is good for Congress in the long run.

Modi’s success in Gujarat and national stage is a lesson for all upcoming politicians. Integrity, performance, realpolitik, organizational capability, oratory to inspire the Indian public etc. are hallmarks of the man. Despite of a tsunami of negativity against him, he is still here winning hearts and minds and capturing our imagination. To do that, he had to overcome his opponents in the BJP as well. These opponents were Delhi insiders, used to the status quo. We have had sixty years of that. Voters are hungry for real change. They want a leader who is going to turn Delhi upside down and bring the netas and babus in line. Modi clearly is the man. Voters know that which is why they are flocking to see him and not because he is white or good looking. Now smart people in Congress (they are there but are afraid of the inner circle or have temporarily joined them) have to realize that the Indian voter is seeing the light and maybe even maturing. They will not fall for the same old scare tactics and vote for Congress. In short, to survive, the Congress has to bring changes in their party and not just cosmetic ones. Like the BJP, they also need to look all over India for capable leaders instead of just one family. Once they do that and admittedly it won’t happen overnight, they will be a party on surer grounds with a hierarchy of leaders, each capable of leading a state or the nation. In short, they have to reinstall inner party democracy. They will then be able to boast of their own Narendra Modi or Shivraj Chauhan or Raman Singh.

Congress has lost its way. With their current leadership in charge they will never find the way back. Therefore losing to the BJP / Narendra Modi, will force them to re-evaluate their policies and evolve. Maybe in five or ten years, they will have a group of leaders their founders could be proud of. All that will only be possible if they lose to the BJP. Heavens forbid, if they do not, then status quo with the Gandhis will be maintained and the party will remain mired in the swamp of incompetence and corruption. This is why I say that Narendra Modi will be good for Congress in the long term. The country deserves Modi and the BJP. But the country also needs and changed and an improved Congress to provide an effective opposition. That will be good for our country and democracy.

Modi Brings Out Best In BJP, Worst In Others

Judging by the way even the hypocrites on the left are grudgingly acknowledging Modi’s political prowess, we can see that his strategy is working. While showcasing his now well known accomplishments, he has gone on an offensive, highlighting the non-governance and extreme corruption of the others. He is making a case for himself by giving the opposition a taste of their own medicine.

Modi could not make a case for himself so far as the most accomplished, capable and honest leader in the country because he did not have the support of his own party. Selfish and corrupt in the BJP were (still are) afraid of his ascent. Clever political machinations took care of that and now after seeing Modi’s performances and strategy for 2014, even his biggest detractors have joined him. With his party by his side, there is clearly no stopping Modi. His quick wit, intellect (notwithstanding the comments by that Stephens educated elitist jerk Shashi Tharoor), oratory, warmth and ability to empathize with the poor (being poor himself unlike most of the Congressmen) is there for all to see. He has energized the voters and more importantly, the soporific BJP worker. It has been a long time since we have seen this kind of energy in the BJP camp. Everyone wants to work and more importantly do the right thing (as we saw in Delhi where Vijay Goel was pushed out in favor of an honest and capable performer). He really is bringing out the best in the BJP.

It is also clear from his approach, that Modi is no pushover like Manmohan Singh. He is a street fighter and a survivor and he knows how to win. This is why he is relentless in his approach. He is just the kind of man to take India to the next level. The voters are beginning to get a glimpse into the man and their reaction is unsettling Modi’s political and ideological enemies. Judging by their reactions, Modi is bringing out the worst in his enemies.

The reaction to Modi’s campaign is a mixed bag of the expected and the surprising. Reaction by Mulayam, Mayawati, Mamata, Sharad Pawar and the commies is not surprising and falls under the category of the expected. They all know that they cannot match Modi in accomplishments or oratory. Since they do not control the national security outfits, they cannot go after him on a personal basis either (like Congress is wont to). So they all are running towards the last refuge of the Indian political scoundrel – secularism (the popular Indian version i.e.). They know it is not going to work but their choices are limited.

The reaction of Nitish Kumar who until sometime ago was the elite’s favorite Non Congress, non Modi option. Of course it is now clear that Nitish read too much into the utterances of self proclaimed intellectuals of the left like Ramchandra Guha who called Kumar India’s answer to Obama. We all know what Kumar has done to be where he is today. What we did not know was the extreme personal hatred this man has for Modi? If Modi had been killed in those explosions, Kumar would have been culpable (if our judiciary were to be fair). Kumar has gone from an extremely strong position in his state to a government which can fall any day now. In reaction to Modi’s success so far, Nitish has essentially committed political hara-kiri.

I have always held that if you take out the Gandhi family and they poodles from Congress, we will have a real alternative to the BJP on a national level. The party has capable people who remain muzzled lest the Shehzada loses some of his so called sheen. However, these people must see that the Congress is an extremely confused lot with no ideology, capability and integrity and what is worse is that the entire voter base knows that. Repeated failures in state elections so far and projected failures in the forthcoming elections should have made it abundantly clear that the usefulness of the Gandhi family (which was to mobilize the Congress worker) has been exhausted and has been that way for the better part of the last decade. An experienced politician would not react to someone like Modi in the way Congressmen have been. Petty name calling, taking out their anger on the press (who by the way are the biggest reason why the Congress and the Gandhi family have been able to run such a successful con on the nation for the last decade) and trying to muzzle them, stopping opinion polls (now that they have turned against Congress), using state’s security apparatus in its relentless hunt for something to pin on Modi or Amit Shah is not the way to win the voters back. The way Rahul Gandhi goes around speaking makes you wonder if anyone has written his speech or some genius thought that it was better if the Shehzada spoke extemporaneously. And then you have these so called educated people like Jayram Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor and their statements. Rational statements rather that petulant angry outbursts are expected from an IIT / Carnegie Mellon / MIT (being an ex IITian, I know of these places and the kind of student Ramesh must be) graduate like Ramesh. Right now he sounds like he wants to please Madam by shouting the loudest and meanest.

Shashi Tharoor has attacked Modi’s lack of formal education. I am not surprised. He is a St. Stephen’s graduate which is school famous for churning out leftist bhoora sahibs rather than true blue contributors to the Indian GDP. Formal education and actual ability have little to do with each other. Surely Tharoor has heard of Bill Gates. A Gujarati businessperson once told me that we do not get MBA degrees. We get people with MBA degrees to work for us. KarsanBhai Patel who runs Nirma is worth over a billion dollars has the same education as Modi and a lot less than Tharoor. Yet when it comes to contributing to India’s GDP, Tharoor is a nobody who marries rich for money. Manmohan Singh has a degree which he can be proud of but what has that degree resulted in? Judging by the economic mess that the country is in, Ivy League schools and Oxford need to recant their degrees from Manmohan, Chidambaran and Montek Singh.

Congress’ reaction to Modi tells me that they have no answer for the man. Modi is playing a game that Congress is trying to understand. Read the following quote by the Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu who wrote the Art of War, and you will realize that whether or not Modi knows about him, he clearly is the master of the art of political war. Instead of trying to pick holes in Modi’s knowledge of history (even their Modi has been proven correct), Congress would be well advised to formulate a strategy otherwise in their love and support for the Gandhi family, and they will lose something much more than the next general election – their identity.

NY Times On Modi – What The F*#@ Do We Care?

I have had some experience in the matter so believe me when I tell you that a very high percent of Indians go weak in the knees and deem to lose the faculty of their spine when confronted by a white person or a proxy. Our leaders are no exception and while talking to white leader seem to get verbal diarrhea  and tend to wash the Indian dirty linen out in public. Just like our other PM candidate Rahul Gandhi when he told a visitor that LeT is a lesser threat to India than RSS. Why do we do this? Do we feel inferior to white people and always are eager to please them and ensure that they hear what THEY want to hear? Why are we so eager to seek validation of white people? I guess the only explanation is that somehow the British rule has altered our DNA and servility is now part of our genetic makeup.

The latest example of such validation seeking slaves are the people responding and agreeing with New York Times editorial which is very critical of Narendra Modi. No sooner did the article come out than a slew of Congresspersons jumped on it and agreed with it because somehow it validates their point of view. To these people, what New York Toilet-paper writes is correct but millions of Indian voters thronging Modi’s rallies are wrong. These are the same people who somehow think that getting the US visa is some sort of a character certificate.

I have something to say to these myopic, pseudo-secular sycophants. Most of these people are older people (Rita Bahuguna and Tariq Anwar) and must remember the articles written in NY Times back in the 1990’s by this reporter called Barbara Crossette. This anti Indian vixen wrote the most putrid anti-Indian articles and pro-pakistani articles. In fact any anti India articles back then used to get major coverage. Did Bahuguna and Anwar and their ilk agree with those articles well?

NYT depends upon input from South Asia Journalist Association which is based in New York. SAJA is nothing but a collection of leftist liberals like Angana Chatterji who have aligned themselves with people like Ghulam Nabi Fai who is currently in jail for spying on behalf of Pakistan. Pseudo-journalists like Vijay Prashad (nephew of Brinda Karat and thus related to the NDTV family) and Biju Matthew spew anti Indian venom in NYT are looked upon as Indian spokespersons in the US by many. With sources of this kind, only an idiot would believe anything published in that newspaper.

Moreover, leftist Indians who are never going to come back and are getting rich of a capitalist system (do you see the irony and the hypocrisy of these bastards?) and can crow about anti Modi articles will have no bearing on the next election. Lakhs and lakhs of people attending Modi rallies WILL have an impact and it is their opinion and their votes that matter.

So I ask you once again – what the F*C@ do we care what New York Times thinks of Modi?

Maut Ka Saudagar versus Shehzada

Congress leaders in the past have used nasty terms like Maut ka saudagar (merchant of death) or fascist or Nazi or worse for Bhai Narendra Modi. He never retaliated or threatened back. His only form of retaliation was to win the next election with even a bigger margin. Even a blind, uneducated man from a non democratic country would tell you that the terms used by Congressmen including Sonia Gandhi are truly offensive and not according to “maryada of loktantra” (norms of democracy).

On the other hand in democracies where a family becomes so powerful that the descendents are almost expected to become heads of state. In the United States, The Kennedys and more recently the Bushes are such families. So much so that they are often referred to as “royalties”. In other words a young man born in this family like the late JFK Jr. was referred to as a Prince or “Shehzada” (in Urdu).

There are a lot of powerful families in India with sons often following their fathers into positions of power. However no family has dominated our unfortunate country as the Nehru-Gandhi family. Those of us with a few years under our belt remember the way Sanjay Gandhi used to behave. It was nothing short of a spoiled Prince. It is because it was almost expected that after Indira Gandhi, one of her sons was going to take over the country. Well, one of them did. SO if one expects Rahul Gandhi to be a candidate for PM’ship by virtue of being a Gandhi then what exactly should the term be?

Mr. Janardan Dwivedi who used to be a teacher at the Leftist Bastion of Delhi University should know that the term used by Narendra Modi for Rahul Gandhi could not be more apt (unlike the term used by his mistress for Modi). After which other simple MP in India gets to meet foreign dignitaries and is privy to national secrets. Please! Rahul Gandhi is not an ordinary MP. He really is more like the guy who thinks that he deserves the seat by virtue of his birth family i.e. a Shehzada.

It is not the term Shehzada used by Modi which has enraged Dwivedi and his ilk. It is the stark difference between the two PM candidates and the inability of the Congress to respond to Modi that is causing this anger. Dwivedi has famously said that Congress workers can stop usage of such words in two days. I do not need to hear that threat from him. Believe me Mr. Dwivedi, we all are scared of the Congress machinery and we know what you folks are capable of. I was young but I saw the brutality inflicted on Sikhs back in 1984. I am sure that Muslims in Nellie (Assam) also know the ferocity of an angry Congressman.

It is not Modi but the leaders from Congress like Dwivedi and Salman Khurshid (remember the threats made to Arvind Kejriwal?) who need a lesson a democratic decorum. It does not behoove senior leaders to behave like this and threaten violence. Who knows which Muslim terrorist may get encouraged and carry out bomb attacks in crowded places?

Congress Has Hindu, Muslim, Sikh Blood On Hands

Congress loves power. So much so that they are willing to do anything. Country got divided because of Congress’ lust for power. An able man like Sardar Patel stepped aside despite of a majority backing to make way for Gandhi’s favorite blue eyed boy Nehru. But none of these things compare to the amount of blood the Congress has on their hands directly or indirectly. TO ensure the continued support of their Muslim votebank and Brahmin-Dalit votebank, they rewrote history or at the very least omitted genocidal violence against Hindus. In fact, if it was not for the Indian history on the internet (not controlled by the Indian government) people would not even know about Mappila massacre of Hindus. Congress ruled educational boards have glossed over the Mughal atrocities and portrayed murderers like Akbar as benevolent rulers. These cover ups are being done even today with the help of pseudo-secular parties, commies and the ever compliant media. An example of that is happening in South India. Islamists are killing RRS and BJP workers systematically in TN. Situation is worse in Kerala.

Political patronage for vote bank purposes is to be blamed for nurturing terrorism and the present state of affairs in Kerala.  Another major contributor has been the apathy of the Keralite Hindus to even acknowledge the problem. Every political party whether it's regional or national has succeeded in keeping the Kerala Hindus divided. Time and again the national parties like the CPM and the Congress have aligned with religious fundamentalist regional parties for political mileage and exploited the Keralite Hindus. Now the situation has become so volatile that the NIA has to name Kerala as the Red Zone for the enormous challenge it faces. It is clear for the following paragraph of the Rediff article titled "Kerala, terror's own country, says NIA" that we would not make much headway as long as the custodians of law are hand in glove with the perpetrators of terror

The kill rate of Bangladeshis at the hands of the paki army would shame the Nazis. We also know that bastards like Nixon and Henry Kissinger knew about the Hindu genocide and chose to keep quiet because it did not suit their agenda of using the pakis to make friends with the Chinese. Human rights be GODDAMNED! I guess Hindus are lesser people. All this is not new and we ourselves written on the topic. What Prof. Bass says is that the Congress knew of the Hindu Genocide, YES – HINDU GENOCIDE and they kept quiet for political reasons. An article in rediff says the following:

All this so Indira Gandhi could continue to have her claws around our unfortunate nation. But why stop at the Hindus. We all know what happened to the Sikhs after Indira Gandhi assassination. Congress leaders were personally involved in the riots which killed over 3000 Sikhs. Till date the guilty have not been punished. What about Nellie massacre in Assam under the Congress rule where over 5000 Muslims were killed. What about numerous riots since our independence that happened in Congress ruled states as a result of the divide and rule votebank policies?

Congress has way too much blood on their hands and all for power. Are they ever going to answer for all that? Is the Indian voter so divided and blind that they will elect this party in its current form again? Something has to change otherwise we will not have a nation of our own. People really need to vote these guys out and bring a sense of justice and hope to the country.

Congress: Lies, Damned Lies and Finally Statistics

No one told Congress that the race has begun. As it is, the race seems to be between a race horse and a three legged donkey. Despite of media’s best efforts to ignore Modi’s virtuoso performance at extremely well received rallies, he has created an electricity in the air. The ditry tricks department of Congress has now gone into an overdrive. They realize that no one is in the mood to buy their lies about Modi or BJP anymore. Congress Bureau of Investigation’s attempts to smear the man are not bearing any fruits. They tried half truths by employing these so called experts who are crunching numbers to show that there is no way the BJP can win more than 180 seats and so Modi cannot become the PM. This is being done with the sole intention of creating a doubt in the minds of voters and demoralize the BJP worker. What these experts do not tell you is that if you go by their numbers, Lok Sabha seats are going to go empty.

Half truths have failed. Lies have failed. Damned lies are also not working out. What is left is Statistics which is now being thrown around by men with alleged expertise. No less a failure than P Chidambaran has started to spew numbers about Modi’s performance and those of the BJP. Like the other key posts, the CAG is also occupied by someone with Congress ties. So we get to hear about issues like malnutrition in Gujarat. No one says that everything is right in Gujarat. After all, it still is part of a developing country. What we want to see if the state is on the right path and there is a discernible difference made over a period. Congress and other Modi haters would have you believe that the improvement made over the last ten years in Gujarat is either a lie or attributable to other factors.

To me Atalji ran a good government but he was no match to Modi when it comes to implementing a vision and forward leaning policies. His claim to fame was to run the NDA smoothly. What I want to tell the Congress mandarins is that forget Modi, you cannot even come close to Atalji’s government performance. Here are some statistics from Economic Times which is no friend of the BJP. Minhaz Merchant bases his article on information from the Economic Survey of India, UNDP, IMF, Planning Commission of India. Merchant chooses ten key criteria and crunches the numbers.

1.GDP growth: Average GDP growth in 1998-2004 (NDA) was 6% a year. Average annual GDP growth in 2004-13 (UPA), up to June 30, 2013, was 7.9%.

Caveat 1: The Vajpayee-led NDA battled US-led economic sanctions following the Pokhran-II nuclear test in May 1998. It faced a short but expensive Kargil war in 1999 and the dotcom bust in 2000. When it took office, it had the lag effect of the East Asian financial crisis of 1997-98 to contend with.

Caveat 2: The UPA government, in contrast, benefited from the economic momentum of the high (8.1%) GDP growth rate of 2003-04 – the NDA government’s final year – and rode that wave. 

Despite these caveats, the UPA government’s average annual GDP growth rate of 7.9% in 2004-13 clearly scores over the NDA government’s average annual growth rate of 6% (though high inflation boosted the former significantly). First strike to UPA.

2. Current Account Deficit:
2004: (+) $7.36 billion (surplus).
2013: (-) $80 billion.


3. Trade deficit:
2004: (-) $13.16 billion.
2013: (-) $180 billion.

4. Fiscal deficit:
2004: 4.7% of GDP.
2013: 4.8% of GDP.

Not much to choose between the two.

5. Inflation:
1998-2004: 5%.
2004-2013: 9% (Both figures are averaged out over their respective tenures).

6. External Debt:

March 2004: $111.6 billion.
March 2013: $390 billion.

7. Jobs:

1999-2004: 60 million new jobs created.
2004-11: 14.6 million jobs created.

8. Rupee:
1998-2004: Variation: Rs. 39 to 49 per $.
2004-13: Variation: Rs. 39 to 68 per $.
9. HDI:
2004: India was ranked 123rd globally on the human development index (HDI) in 2004, with a score of 0.453.
2013: India has slipped 13 places to 136th globally on the HDI in 2013 with a score of 0.554.

10. Subsidies:
2004: Rs. 44,327 crore.
2013: Rs. 2,31,584 crore.

Here again, profligate welfarism, as the ADBI report quoted earlier shows, has led to a rising subsidy bill. Worse, a significant amount is siphoned off by a corrupt nexus of politicians, officials and middlemen.
Conclusion: UPA scores above NDA on one of the 10 parameters (GDP growth), is level on one other parameter (fiscal deficit) while NDA does better than UPA on the remaining eight parameters.
The next time Finance Minister P. Chidambaram wishes to stage an encounter with facts, he would do well to be aware of those facts.

Lalu In Jail: Too Little Too Late

Finally. Finally, Laloo Yadav gets his comeuppance. He is finally proven to be what we all knew he was – a criminal. He was a criminal then. He is a criminal today and that is what he will be tomorrow – incarceration assisted rehabilitation be damned. It may justice served but, in my humble opinion,it is too little and definitely too late.

Think about it. He was charged and indicted long time ago. He spent a brief time in jail after being charged. However, he ruled the unfortunate state of Bihar using his wife as a proxy (like Congress using another housewife to rule our unfortunate nation). He then got out and has since occupied some of the highest offices in the nation. He has taken important decisions and influenced countless others. He did all this under a cloud of well grounded suspicion. In his capacity as Railways Minister, he took it upon himself to unleash a judge on Narendra Modi in the aftermath of the post Godhra Massacre riots. Imagine. A scam artist and a criminal like Lalloo investigated a man of impeccable character like Modi. If this is not a total travesty of social and criminal justice, then I don’t know what is? Can one even make an estimate of the damage that has been done to the nation with a criminal like Laloo Yadav as a Minister in our central government? 

How does a criminal get to make and influence national level decisions? Clearly this is an ongoing problem with our judicial system. Laloo and other roamed free using legal loopholes and taking advantage of the glacier like speed of our courts.

What can be done about it? One solution is that the moment someone is charged with a crime, they should be barred from holding a public office. Of course knowing our corrupt political system and bureaucracy, that provision will get used to settle personal scores and against good people. What needs to be done is that in such cases, special courts needs to be established which specially deal in such cases. If a politician is charged then they need to be tried and either punished or absolved quickly. We all know that A Raja is one of the biggest crooks in the country and yet he sits in the Loksabha. Why has he not been tried quickly? Of course Raja does not want this matter settled quickly because he knows that any trial will find him guilty. At least under the current system, he can use the judicial machinations and stay out. He can delay his trial as long as he can. That way, in future, in a favorable political situation, he can be either pardoned or have the case buried deep. And like Laloo, by the time the trial hits the court, he will be an old man. He then (like Laloo) claim old age and demand mercy.

We need total revamp of our judicial system. For crimes of social (rapes, dowry deaths, female feticides) and political (scams etc.) nature, there is a critical need for fast track courts. We do not need rapists and murderers roaming free for potential victims. Similarly, we cannot have criminal politicians occupying offices and making decisions which affect the entire country.

Paki PM Insults India’s Rural Women

One has to earn respect. Capability, courage or achievements earn you that. Of course if you depend upon your position for respect then be prepared to be ignored, insulted and spat on (figuratively of course). Manmohan Singh who was the second choice of Narsimha Rao made some obvious moves from Economics 101 and got the country back from a one billion dollar forex reserve and on a road to recovery. When the situation was so terrible, showing improvement is not exactly a major achievement. But small men let things like that go to their head. Latest example is Nitish Kumar. He surely has dug Bihar out of the deep hole. But that is all he has done. However, egged on by the media (who is on a constant lookout for the “maybe not Congress and definitely “not Modi” politician). Nitish Kumar took this faint praise too seriously and destroyed a good thing.

Manmohan Singh forgot that he is a proxy for Rajmata and the Shehzada. He has destroyed any degree of integrity that we associated with our government by allowing rampant looting of the nation. By staying silent on issues of importance he has created an aura of impotence. He is supposed to be this crack economist and has essentially destroyed the Rupee (believe me folks. It will be a long bloody time before we can see Rupee at its last year’s value). When it comes to security and defence matters he has turned India into an image of himself – a doormat. No one in his own party respects him because they all know who the real power is. The latest in this long series of slights that this man has faced is by Rahul Gandhi. Wow. This has to be the lowest of the lows. But try telling that to Singh who has loudly proclaimed to be willing to work under Rahul (as if people think that he is doing otherwise right now).

Till now we were run over by the Chinese. They come into the country like it’s their backyard, mess with us by playing petty visa games, prop up the Pakistanis, do their best to surround us by using Bangladeshis and rebuffed (Sri Lankans – again- Thank you Congress) and destroy our small scale production industry by flooding our market with cheap shit which our ignorant voters are happy to buy. But now we have the paki PM calling Manmohan Singh a “dehati aurat”. First of all, as a person who comes from humble background and with rural roots, I take great umbrage on behalf of or woman from rural areas. These women deal with adversity on a regular basis, work hard in the fields, take care of their families, contribute greatly to the economy and deal with lecherous bastards regularly. How dare the Paki PM compare our rural women to Manmohan Singh??

Jokes aside, let us examine the irony of the statement. Singh refers to paki involvement in terror. Do that is like saying sky is blue. Just today a huge bomb went off in Peshawar. This was the second one in less than a week. This one was within their boundaries. These two do not include their dirty tricks outside of Pakistan. The mall siege in Kenya has paki connections as well. Their attempts at messing with peace in India, Iran and Afghanistan are not news to anyone. In fact, every terrorist attack in the world has paki prints on it. Sorry Nawaz Sharif! You are like a cheap whore representing a cheaper country. You lost the right to be called anything else but a terrorist long time ago.

This is what we have become. Now the pakis are calling us names. Yet watch Manmohan Singh meet and talk peace with this terrorist. Watch him make mockery of all things we revere by visiting Pakistan this year. We are getting humiliated because of our weak kneed response. I hold our liberal, vote-bank politicians responsible for all this. Even our own Atalji was no better when it came to Pakistan. Who can forget Pervez Musharraf getting that building in Lahore cleaned after Atalji visited it. Even then this bastard was invited to India. All he did after coming over was defecate on our hospitality. Even the dumbest of the dumb learn after repeated humiliations.

But the people I really hold responsible are the Indian voters. Yes. We deserve the government we elect. Every mistake made by UPA2 is our fault. If we continue to stay divided for one reason or the other then this is what we will continue to get. The Indian voters need to wake up and smell the stink. Unite and vote for a capable man or get ready for more of the same. It is our choice.

Modi VS Congress A-Team: Fight Or A Joke?

Overcoming a whole lot of self made barriers, the BJP finally elected their contestant for the next PM post. Thank all the Gods! We now have a chance to elect a real leader and a difference maker in Bhai Narendra Modi. He will lead the conservatives and the centre right of India. The whiff of the third front notwithstanding, the main opposition to the BJP will come from the Congress. We all know that the Congress candidate is the Crown Prince Rahul Maino Gandhi. But Congress is afraid to nominate him because then it becomes a well defined fight. NaMo versus RaGa is like US Army versus Granada. It is like Sachin Tendulkar versus me. It is like a racehorse versus a three legged donkey. This why, the Congress is claiming strategic ambiguity and silence. Fear is no strategy.

So far all Congress has done is reacting to Modi’s statements and claims. They are realizing that they are bringing a knife to a gun fight. So they met for five days and have come up with an aggressive strategy. They are going to do what Digvijay Singh has been doing so far: blatant lies, innuendoes and name calling i.e. usual Congress brand sleaze which the mainstream Indian media laps and perpetuates. Except it won’t be Singh alone. Sonia ji has appointed some “articulate’ Congressmen who will essentially carry out a intense negative campaign aided by NDTV and their ilk. However, when you take a look at the Congress A team, you have to say WTF!! They are pitting these corrupt and loudmouth men against one of the best and the most able leaders in our history. Let us go through the list of these ‘articulate’ men and see where they stand in comparison with and able and proven leader like Modi.

Kapil Sibal
This man has been accused of helping the Ambanis in the 2G scam. There is a pending Vodaphone scam (Rs. 11000 crore). He also tried to censor internet and social media sites to help out the Gandhi family. He has made a mockery of various exam systems and made loud claims about the now failed Akash tablet. He made a surreptitious deal with Agnivesh to scuttle Anna Hazare’s campaign. His wife runs a butchery / abattoir which seems to be a curious business for a Hindu. All in all the man has a checkered run in every department he has been in charge. Moreover, he is a known loudmouth with little diplomatic skills.

PC Chidambaran
He is claimed to be deeply involved in the 2G scam. His son is allegedly involved in a scam known as Aircel-Maxis deal. He and his wife have represented some really dubious outfits (Enron, Vedanta Resources and the Saradha Chit Fund in WB). His wife was invested in a company called Fairgrowth which was involved in a securities fraud. As per The Hindu, he pressured poll officer in Sivaganga to influence the poll results in his favor. His term as the Home Minister is known for a lathi charge on protesters in Ramlila maidan in which one woman died. During his tenure we had numerous Naxal and Maoist attacks which are yet to be solved. Perhaps his biggest failure has been the recent Rupee debacle especially because he is supposed to be this highly educated Economist. This man is known only for corruption, destruction of the Rupee and coining the term Hindu Terrorism. Wow!

Salman Khurshid
He is known for his involvement is a non scam i.e. a scam so petty that as per his own partyman, it cannot be called a scam. Stealing from the handicapped!! When confronted by Arvind Kejriwal, our current FM who should be a consummate diplomat lost all cool and threatened Kejriwal with death. Yup. Another piece of work.

Anand Sharma
A lesser known luminary but also involved in a majors cam. India Today (no friend of the BJP) said the following about this man: In a deal reminiscent of the 2G scam that continues to rock the Government, 82 licences to export one million tonnes (MT) of non-basmati rice were doled out by the commerce ministry under Anand Sharma to a chosen few.
Another one like Manmohan, he is a Rajya Sabha member and probably owes his position to loyalty to the party high command rather than his constituency.

Jairam Ramesh
He was one of the better Congressmen. He is also highly educated, liberal but able and seemed like a committed Environment Minister but did not have the backing of the Family or the Government to make any difference. All in all a barking dog with no bite. He was shunted off to a much lesser ministry. So far no involvement in any scams but is a real loudmouth with a penchant for putting his foot in his mouth. In a Congress without the Gandhi Family, he will be an asset. With the Gandhi family in it, he is being reduced to another attack dog of Congress.

Digvijay Singh
He is the biggest blowhard since Lalloo Yadav but far less entertaining. Self acclaimed evaluator of women (“Tunch Maal” versus regular or lesser maal). Guru to Rahul Gandhi and thus responsible for Congress’ defeats in many states. Has been involved in minor scams and confessed to gifting Asaram Harpalani aka Asaram Bapu free land in Indore. He is Asaram’s man in Congress. Digvijay Singh has given new dimension to the word hypocrisy. Routinely stoops to new lows with secularism as an excuse. He lies but not well. Recently got caught lying about BJP paying for burqas and topis. Accuses Hindus of all kinds of terror and is going to be the Congress’ biggest attack dog as he is total loose cannon. He is a spent political force since he cannot bring in votes for Congress but for some unknown reason, still a relevant figure in that party.

So this is Congress A-Team and is supposed to contain the man they could not contain in the last ten or so years with their entire might. As the expression goes, Modi is going to eat their lunch. It is not even going to be a fight because Modi is going to talk issues while these men are going to go all negative. Modi will tell the voters why they should vote for him. These men are going to tell voters lies to hide their own sins.

These men do not worry me. What worries me is continuing disunity in Hindus. We are still divided along familiar fault lines and continue to lose sight of the bigger picture; future of India. Hopefully by the time next election rolls in, we would have set our differences aside and do the right thing for once.

Reaction To Modi's Nomination

As expected, reaction to Bhai Narendra Modi’s nomination is at the extremes. Fans are still rejoicing, walking around with a bounce in their steps and bit of a swell in the chest. His political opponents are going around presenting doomsday scenarios or feigning indifference.

The one thing that really stands out is the intensity and the timing. It was expected to be intensely negative however, the timing of it is curious. Everyone was expecting that Modi will be the PM candidate so some of this leftist outrage should have started to percolate already. However, it seems to have boiled over after the announcements. This means that the jerk brigade in India was hoping that the candidacy may not happen. Now why would they hold on to hope of that kind? I think that they were fully expecting the internal strife in the BJP to derail the Modi nomination. These guys were actually depending on the Advani campaign to do what they could not do with their entire dirty tricks department. Are you not glad that Rajnath Singh’s political machinations and Modi resoluteness thwarted the leftist design which this ignorant old coot was more than willing to carry out.

Another interesting thing is the reaction to Modi’s ascension in the foreign press. Modi has been referred to as a Hindu ideologue at best and extremist at worst. The New York Times which is a leftist toilet paper like the NDTV had a rather vicious article which was written by an American but the contributing authors (credited at the end) were Indians. I am sure that most of the adjectives used for Modi were provided by our own leftists because a paper like NY Times does not care about Indian elections or who gets elected. As usual, the US visa is being used as a character certificate by our feces for brains leftists. Well the question for us to ponder is, do we care what anyone (other than Modi supporters) thinks of Modi? The straight forward answer is NO.

Baba Ramdev was held at the British airport for a very long time and questioned. This is a country whose capital is often referred to as Londonistan (by conservative Brits) and has a virulently Islamist population living among them is stopping a Yoga guru. Now If I were the Baba, I would take the next flight back to India and tell the Brits to sit on something sharp and hard. I don’t know what the Baba is going to do but I hope that he comes back. My point is that we need to look at our past and our potential future and develop a sense of pride so that the only opinion which counts is ours. What the western press thinks should be as relevant to us as our current PM is to decision making.

The leftist intelligentsia (intelligent in their own world) is threatening to leave India. People like the repugnant Amitav Ghosh who do not even live in India have taken it upon themselves to criticize a consummate patriot and the only performing leader like Modi. If these people want to leave then my suggestion would be to please buy a one way ticket and promise never to return. In turn I promise to contribute money towards their ticket and help them pack and carry their stuff to the train or the airport or the leaky boat I would like them to take.

So to Bhai Narendra and his supporters, I say unite and vote. Because we cannot let Hindu votes be divided. We cannot become complacent. No matter what the weather or the conditions, we must take a vow to go out to vote. Dear Hindus, unite and vote because this is an election for India’s future. We have a chance to elect a difference making leader. If we do not go out and vote in large numbers and in a united manner then we deserve Rahul Gandhi as the next PM.

To the leftists who have lost all objectivity and have nothing better to do than spew vitriol, I wish you the worst and by worst I mean a Modi victory. Because nothing would be a greater punishment for Indian liberals than to see a Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi putting India on a course for development, prosperity and peace.
