But on the other hand why would the secular bandwagon bother when the victims are Dalit Hindus. They don’t want to be branded as being communal like the BJP. Also most of the media in India beyond doubt is either communally biased or get benefits from some source for not projecting violence against Hindus. Why else would a crook like Teesta Setalvad and her NGO Citizens for Justice and Peace responsible for filing false cases and fabricated affidavits, get all the positive publicity and support?
Hindu dalits are undergoing such atrocities in villages all over India. The media chooses not to publicize such issues and conveniently takes cover under the excuse of calling it communally sensitive issue. Dr. Subramanian Swamy should be admired for his crusade in saving many such Hindu dalit villages from the Muslim atrocities in Tamil Nadu.
Such minority appeasement for vote bank politics backed by a biased media not reporting the crimes committed by the Muslim community is a blatant cover-up of the hypocrisy that exist in the torch bearers of secularism and that religion. A community that perpetually cries foul play and victimhood is actually the one silently committing inhumane crimes.
India is secular because of the Hindus and Hinduism and stretching the secular social fabric of the nation beyond a tipping point will be unwise.

Melvisharam: “Darul Islam” of Tamil Nadu
Melvisharam being a predominantly Muslim town, the Urdu-speaking community was quite wealthy with an economy largely based on Tanneries, while the SCs and MBCs of Keelvisharam were dependent solely on agriculture in the water-starved region. The merger of Keelvisharam with Melvisharam has brought immense difficulties to its people, who were forced to approach the courts due to the total indifference and arrogance of successive governments, Dravidian parties and self-styled Dalit and Vanniyar leaders. Dr. Subramaniam Swamy took up their cause, and there is now hope for permanent relief to the hapless Hindus of Keelvisharam.
