This is a post, which I am writing out of extreme anger and frustration. I am not even going to try to be rational in this one. I am sure that most of you are going to empathize with me. A relative of mine who is a huge cynic once told me that India is a nation of Jaichands. Am beginning to see the wisdom in that statement. Of course a post like this cannot be complete without the quote from that bastard Churchill (may he rot in hell):
“Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues, freebooters; all Indian leaders will be of low calibre and men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles. A day would come when even air and water... would be taxed in India"
Yet another report presented in front of US Congress, said that the reason why it was so difficult to deal with Indian leaders and bureaucrats is because every one of them has big egos and are hypersensitive. The gist of the saying was that Indians tend to put their ego above the national interests.
I for one have always held RSS and its leadership in high esteem despite of their refusal to adapt to evolving social mores and global economy. I can also overlook their stubborn ways of controlling people. What I CANNOT forgive is when they let their egos run above national interests. By now, everyone with couple of grey cells in their head have acknowledged Modi’s prowess as a capable leader and most probably India’s tallest. There are ample indications that even the Muslims are breaking ranks and coming out, ready to embrace the idea of Modi as PM. So when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Nitish Kumar-ruled Bihar is far ahead of Gujarat in matters relating to good governance and development, I tried to make sense out of it.
After all, RSS is beholden to the Hindutva ideology and Hindu Nationalism. So why would Bhagwat essentially endorse Nitish Kumar? Does he not know or is ignoring the reports that Bihar is fast becoming the hub of jihadi activities? Bihar is also the place where illegal Bangladeshis can roam free. Nitish Kumar clearly practices Congress variety votebank politics and SP / BSP brand caste politics. How can RSS support this selfish man with an extremely bloated self worth? The only answer is that the RSS hates Modi so much that they are willing to overlook all of Nitish Kumar’s sins. They are cutting their nose to spite their face.
Nitish had recently said he may opt out of NDA if Narendra Modi is projected as the PM candidate for 2014 polls. It is high time that we called this guy’s bluff and let him deal with the specter of losing power to lalloo Yadav. People of Bihar may have created a monster.
Soon after Bhagwat’s statement, NV Subramanian wrote a tremendous article where he contends the following:
Although Modi has been Gujarat's chief minister for three terms, he does not fit into the characteristic mould of the Indian politician. Of all Indian politicians, Modi has the special capacity to bring to power a single-party government at the Centre, ending the tyranny of two decades of coalition politics. This distinction drives terror into the heart of Indian politicians. They fear that, to use a crude Hindi phrase, Modi *sabki dukaan band kar dega*.
We all know that Modi is facing opposition from outside the party and within. We also know that Modi is a once in a generation kind of leader India needs and deserves. We also know that days of a national party are dwindling down and a selfish regional party is upon us. So, if you can’t beat them, then join them. I suggest that Bhai Narendra Modi forms his own party with his core beliefs as the founding principles of the party. He needs to launch it in Gujarat and other states where he has strong following. Think about it. If he manages more than thirty seats in the next Loksabha then he will be as powerful as Mulayam or Nitish or any of those pseudo secular demagogues. He may even be able to negotiate a position of power for himself. With his own party, he will no longer be answerable to RSS and will be unencumbered by incompetent party managers like Gadkari and selfish leaders like Advani.
It will be a drastic move but in the face of this anti Modi shit-storm emanating from everywhere, we may not have any other choice.

I should endorse your views, but it's not correct to form a separate party that will weaken our ideology, and our strength.further I want to say thar RSS has denied appreciating Bihar ahead of Gujarath.i want to point out that RSS only endorsed Modi when Nithishkumaar oppose hinduthva PM.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to weaken the RSS even though some of your views might seems fact.
Denials by the RSS mean little in face of their recent actions. It breaks my hear to speak ill of RSS or anyone associated with it. Every RSS worker is a hero because they represent the best of what means to be an Indian. However, the nation is still above us all. RSS leadership should identify the call of times and move in the right direction even if it means sacrificing some of their old time practices. We all want India to achieve her potential. Pains us greatly to see the state she is in.
ReplyDeleteThanks to the writer. I believe that if Modi forms a Political Party all the state leaders of BJP will join him and the present BJP will become a party of incapable leaders and blog writers. Also the frustrated people will see the ray of hope. RSS leaders are not agaist Modi. But some of them feel that- if he leads the BJP,their significance will vanished. Its not late. If he forms a party definately ouster the most corrupt UPA in 2014.
