Are Manmohan And Sonia Clean?

Ronald Reagan’s real achievement was being at the right place at the right time. He looked good and spoke well. Other than that, he did not do anything. In fact if anything, he ran up the deficit and laid groundwork for future economic debacles. Yet he is looked upon as one of the greatest US presidents. Folks, it is all smoke and mirrors. Public opinions can be managed by careful media management.

In India, no one manages the media better than the Congress. It does not hurt to have a pliant media also. All these years through systematic brainwashing, subterfuge and careful dissemination of information, the Gandhi / Nehru dynasty has been protected. Despite of repeated blunders, Nehru has been placed on a pedestal as someone the nation could not have done without. Mrs. Gandhi was also protected in the same way. After the Bofors scandal, one would have thought that the Gandhi family was dome in politics but not in India. They were brought back by the Congress as saviors.

Which brings us to the present times when despite all kinds of scams and corruption cases, opinion polls indicate that Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi are thought of as above the sleaze. While everyone thinks that the UPA is corrupt and yet somehow the two people in charge are innocent. All these scams are part of an organized effort to rob the country and in organized crime, money flows from the bottom to the top i.e. from the doer to the person in charge. Then how can the money flow stop below the person on the top? Of course the media mavens would have you believe that despite of the sleaze around them, these two were unaware of it all. Even if one is gullible enough to believe that, how does one explain this astounding degree of naïveté? Or is it incompetence? Or worse? How do people of this kind deserve to be in charge?

The fact of it all is that the lust for power or money or both has forced the so called clean people to look the other way. In legal terms this is called aiding and abetting which are felonies in their own rights. My point is that despite of any overt proof, one can safely say that these two people are definitely guilty of something.

So why do people still think that they are above it all? Careful image management with help from media lap dogs is one answer. Of course you also have men like Digvijay Singh who is a master of diverting attention. You have men who are taking all the blame either out of loyalty or fear. How else can we explain the silence of A Raja or Kalamadi or Kanimozhi? Why are Balwa or Hassan Ali keeping quiet? But the bigger question is why the voters of India are not asking these questions?

May be the people cannot believe that they elected this bunch not once but twice. Maybe their need for something or someone to place their faith in is blinding them to the obvious. Maybe the years of media assisted brainwashing has made the Gandhi brand name impervious to any suspicion. Whatever the reason, the aam aadmi needs to open his eyes otherwise he will end up making the same mistake a third time. The nation cannot afford any more mistakes.

  1. You gotta be kidding me Bhai!

In case you haven't realized it yet, your posts increasingly sound like conspiracy theories that I often hear from across the border, where every disaster, mishap..etc, is either an American plot or Jewish propaganda. Obviously in this case it's the deceitful, distrustful Congress, that in spite of years of anti-India, anti-growth, pro-corruption policies has been able to stop India's growth. Ah!! If only BJP had solemn hold on power, India would have been a paradise (obviously, I mean that in the Hindu sense of the word).

Nehru and Indira are certainly one of the best and I dare say 'indispensable leaders' the nation has seen, though I'd strongly disagree with a few of their policies such as the military complacency under Nehru and imposition of emergency by Indira. Having said that, anyone belittling their contributions during the formative years of thsi Republic would only do so at the cost of his intellectual repute. But with all it's mighty failings and meager achievements where the Congress is subject to criticism, and it should be for it's own good, it also worthy of it's share of praise that does not find a mention on this blog.

Let's assume for a moment that your assertion that, "All these scams are part of an organized effort to rob the country and in organized crime, money flows from the bottom to the top i.e. from the doer to the person in charge", is true. Applying this assertion to the only full term BJP led government, one should have no doubts in concluding that the BJP leaders 'made hay' in the Coffin Scandal; perhaps both ABVP and Advani have shored up enough for their retirement, how sick is that, and sure enough the BJP leadership is getting it's cut of the 'mining scam' too. Little wonder they picked Yeddy's lackey for the CM's chair. By your own logic, let me dare ask, how gullible are you?

Going by the standards of polity in this country, no party being an exception, it is not a far cry to assume Modi is looting Gujarat for it's worth in the guise of 'Vibrant Gujarat' and SEZs, the day he's voted out of office we'll see it all unearthed. At the moment he's busy saving his skin from IPS officers.

If BJP is truly the party with a difference as you claim, why doesn't it lend support to Anna Hazare? RSS/BJP was first to jump in support of Baba Ramdev. Perhaps because Hazare is not millionaire, or may be Coz he doesn't wear saffron clothing, or perhaps coz he's not opposed to gays ... take a pick your guess is as good as mine. Or simple coz a stronger anti-corruption legislation will tighten the noose around their necks as much as it would do to the Congress.

It's all 'smokes and mirrors' in need when you read this blog, what about the Babri masjid demolition, intelligence falure during Kargil, Coffin scam, Lieing to the nation about the hostage situation, Gujarat riots - surprisingly I fail to see a similar criticism when it comes to BJP.

Well let's see, India is 81% Hindu and 19% minorities. Now, if even with a pro-Hindu and Hindu-nationalistic agenda if the BJP cannot secure a majority, I think the writing is pretty much on the wall! Alas, BJP and it's supporters still chose to look the other way while it needs to look inwards and re-invent itself. Makes me wonder how naive are the Hindutva supporters?
